So now we're going to be hearing about "DA MASHEENS WUR WYPD" conspiracy for the next four years?

Great.  Just going to file that in the same place Hillary's emails and Hunter's laptop are.

havocmike: Ishkur: I notice that they're only trying to overturn the Presidential votes.

But people don't just vote for President. They vote for all sorts of down ballot stuff.

The argument they're trying to make is that the ones for Biden are fraudulent, but all the down ballot votes are fine. And they're having trouble convincing any judge of that.

It's 10 years of living in a bubble catching up to them.

Another way of saying this is that if something is outside their personal experience (especially if it contradicts what is in their personal bubble) they don't believe it is real, or even a valid way of thinking.

I always think of Piaget's stages of childhood development here, where very small children assume that everyone they meet intimately knows and accepts the same kind of reality that they themselves experience, and become extremely puzzled when they find that other people think and experience life differently..

Which to me shows that people determined to live in such a limited way have never really become responsible or rational adults.

Hoblit: mrwknd: Even without the Electoral votes from Georgia Biden would still win.

Which is why Trump representatives are organizing visits with Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Arizona legislators too.

Trump almost certainly believes he did not lose the election and can remain president, his ego is big enough to not accept that he can lose. He also absolutely knows he needs to remain president to remain safe from prosecution, creditors, and organized crime organizations.

The rest of the GOP just wants any victory to point to showing that Biden's presidency is illegitimate. If they got Georgia's election results overturned somehow they would say "See what happened in Georgia? How can you believe what happened elsewhere?"

The argument, from the mouth of a Trump voter I know, is that "THE ESTABLISHMENT" is so against Trump for shaking things up that the Democrats and some top Republicans worked TOGETHER to fraudulently oust him, and that the "DEEP STATE" doesn't care whether the right or left gets the Senate.

It's just like a different right winger I know believes Hillary wasn't prosecuted for Benghazi because Republican politicians were in the tank for her, in an argument I had a couple years ago.  I didn't think that attitude could spread, but it explains a lot about the thought process here and how difficult it is to argue with.

RasIanI: So - both the presiding judge and the lead attorney both seem unaware that the USA General Election is not an election, but over 3,000 individual elections, all supervised by a local county commissioner - of course those results are their property, and are for them to decide if they need to preserve the database after 2 recounts and full certification. That's why claims of "massive, widespread, co-ordinated fraud!!!" by anyone is viewed with immense skepticism, bordering on massive incredulity.

Idk if Lin and the judge are just that casually uninformed, or whether they tried to pull a fast one - and got busted by the paralegal skimming the decision for his boss, but...

Happens all the time, dude.

qorkfiend: Garza and the Supermutants: "Look, when a voter votes on a Dominion machine, they fill out a ballot on a touch screen," Steel said. "They are given a printed copy which they then give to a local election official for safekeeping. If any electronic interference had taken place, the tally reported electronically would not match the printed ballots, and in every case where we've looked at - in Georgia, all across the country - the printed ballot, the gold standard in election security, has matched the electronic tally."

Contrast that with Walter O'Dell, President of Diebold in November of 2003...''I am committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president next year,''

Well sure, and clearly we haven't forgotten, which is why they changed their name and don't say that part out loud any more.

Holy shiat and then they were bought up by the competition, spun back away from them after a DOJ antitrust lawsuit, and then purchased by Dominion. Quite the rabbit hole.
