Um...it's a film that's nearly 30 years old. I think it's time to let this one go. You can't retroactively be nominated for an Oscar.

She's cute and engaging, but I'm not watching 30 minutes of this shiat. I've got steaks to cook and the Sunday New York Times to read.

Then why the hell did Scorsese win for the Departed, of all films?

New York Times? With that I'm guessing that you are too close minded to enjoy a proper well done chuck with ketchup.

Wow. Interesting stuff, but she is insufferable to watch. From the jittery cuts mid-sentence to the off-pronunciation (waistcoat isn't pronounced waist coat) to the weird "Right?" effects, I had to stop part way through.

If there's a food written analysis, I'd love to read it.

As good of a portrayal of Scrooge as there has ever been.  I also like some of the songs.  No, I am not clicking the link.

I'll never forgive the Disney corporation for excising "When Love Is Gone" and then apparently "losing" all copies of it.  I know Brian Henson has been fighting for years with them over this and it just sucks.

Muppet Treasure Island is also the best Treasure Island movie.  Mr. Bimbo assured me this is true.

The Ghost of Christmas Present has told me that Jingle Jangle should get it this year.

(seriously, the production design and costumes in that are insane in the best way)

Yup.  https://www.merriam-webster.com/words-at-play/words-commonly-mispronounced/imprimatur

It would be like listening to someone saying "Green Witch Village," "Vick-tuals" or "Wore-cester-shire" over and over. It's especially grating in a video about painstaking accuracy and doing painstaking research into small details.

But mostly, it was the editing that got to me.  The constant jarring mid-sentence cuts were like these awful videos my teenager watches.  I don't know if it's a stylistic thing, or she kept flubbing lines and tried to just splice it together, but it was horribly distracting.

If you have the tv/pan and scan version of the film, that has the song. My DVD has both edits. (widescreen = theatrical release, 4:3 = tv edit with the extra song).

Do you have more detail on Brian Henson fighting Disney?

Watched it every year since seeing it in the theaters and this is the first I've heard of the issue. Guess my VHS and DVD copies are the good ones. That song is usually when I fall asleep though.

"When Love Is Gone" was cut from the initial theatrical release of The Muppet Christmas Carol, but it has been restored for most subsequent home video and television versions. Though absent from the 2012 Blu-ray, as well as later foreign video releases, the scene was included as an "extra" bonus feature when the film was released to the iTunes Store and Disney+.

I checked.

It starts earlier, but yeah her Wagner Smock segment peaks around there.

She needs help, lots of help.
