Trump was convinced he was going to win on election night in a repeat of 2016, and was 'shouting at everyone' when Fox News called Arizona for Biden

Trump believed he would win because of the social media help. The gerrymandering. The roll purging. The physical intimidation at the polls. The list is much longer...

He believed he would win for those reasons, not because the people wanted him. He doesn't care what the people think, whether they like him or not. All he cares is that he "wins."

We should feel lucky that Trump didn't become the "war President" that he constantly said he wanted to be.

President Donald Trump and top aides were convinced lying to Donald that on election night that as in 2016, Trump would upset the odds and clinch victory...

They were so trying to protect his fee fees. They still are with these nonsense lawsuits.

Unfortunately, my wishes didn't come true, either. I was hoping that Democrats would take the Senate without the GA races, and that the question on Wednesday AM was not whether Biden won, but by how much.

Turns out Joe telling us all the race was much closer than the polls indicated was exactly right.

The photo from that is probably the best illustration of why Obama was a much better President than Trump. Obama had the guy in charge of the mission at the head of the table, and was listening to him rather than try to claim the spotlight.

I mean, seriously, at that weird-ass Thanksgiving press event where he was sitting at the kiddie's table with a full diaper, Trump's whole rationale for why only voter fraud can account for Biden carrying Pennsylvania was that "There's no way I lose with Biden wanting to ban fossil fuels."

It's all based on his belief that he just should have won.  There's no greater proof required for him.  No one could possibly beat him without cheating.

Correct. He figured the game was rigged in his favor and that the same factors that elected him in 2016 would carry the day in 2020. The elections were rigged, just not rigged enough.

2020-11-29 12:30:28 PM
Trump decided to claim the election was stolen from him by fraud on election night.

That's absolute bullshiat. He has been planning to claim the 2020 election was stolen since he was inaugurated in 2017. In fact, he has been planning this strategy since before 2016 because it is the exact same strategy he used then. Of course, he won in 2016, but that didn't stop him from claiming fraud then.

But no matter what happened in the observable universe, he was gonna claim fraud in 2016 and in 2020. I expect him to claim fraud in 2024 but the guards at the Florence Supermax are not fond of their prisoners holding public rallies.

Don't forget about the Navajo Nation, which apparently didn't care for the Trump admin sending them body bags when they requested PPE for Covid.

This is a stretch of the term "cheating," but in a way Trump's cheating cost him the election.  Instead of taking COVID seriously, he decided to game it and in a sense cheat.  I'm not underplaying the horrendous lose of life he has and will continue to cause, it just seems in his psychopathic mind, he chose a cheat code in an effort to harm his political opponents.

Trump's incessant whining and crying, and baseless accusations about a rigged election are making America an embarrassment to the world, at the very least. And a threat to our national security at the worst.

We need this ass-hole to shut up and move on.

2020-11-29 12:43:47 PM
Regardless. I think we can all admit that the amount of votes he did get is scary as fark. 4 years of insane incoherent babbling and rage trolling with outright administrative corruption and grifting, coupled with repealing every human and environmental protection possible, and on top of that alienating all of our foreign allies while strategically weakening both our diplomatic credibility, and our military checks on aggressive forces worldwide, and more people vote for him than the first time? Despite Biden getting a record number of votes and considerably more than Trump besides, the fact that he increased his base by several million whilst objectively looking like the dumbest motherfarker to ever take office, should be a huge wake up call. This is going to take decades to fix, and unless we proactively work towards that it will only get worse at an exponential pace.

Trump doesn't believe things. At least not like you or I would. That requires caring about what the truth is. He just chooses to "believe" whatever is most convenient for him at the time.

Sin'sHero: How could those internal WH polls be so wrong?

Assuming their internal polls were close to reality*, they weren't that wrong.  A small (under 1%) swing in the national vote, and Trump wins Georgia, Arizona and Wisconsin.  A slightly larger swing then gives him PA.

Meanwhile, you'd need an even larger swing the other way to give Biden NC.

Watching FL close, and 15 minutes later, realizing that it was going to be off by about 4% from the projection had me in panic mode for sure.

*So, basically everything I typed after that doesn't matter.

If he wasn't such an awful, awful person, it would be heartbreaking to see that kind of delusional behavior.  I'm reminded of my grandmother, who was afflicted with Alzheimer's and lost touch with reality.

But since we're talking about a person who actively tries to harm other people in great numbers, fark him.

Giving some people more of a voice in the electoral college than others was Gerrymandering before Mr. Gerry.
