Can we go with the "Cheerleaders with Uzi's" Night of the Comet route instead?

Yeah but parthenogenesis is an actual thing. It's not far fetched to assume it occurred in saurischian dinosaurs and by extension other types. We can observe it in frogs (DNA used in Jurassic Park) and also modern lizards like big farking saurischian looking monitor lizards.

If you want to knock Crichton's stuff, knock his murder mystery stuff written as "John Lange" His scifi is rooted in actual facts/theory.

No need for pedantry when making fun of Crichton!

Crichton is an MD from Harvard. So you can expect the science in his stories to be at least based on valid science.

Crichton was a global warming denier. I can't remember what book it was. His last or next to last where environmentalists cause a tsunami, but he adds about twenty pages as an afterword explaining how climate science is the new eugenics. Everyone believes it, but everyone turned out to be wrong, and evil. The guy was not just kooky and rich. He was San Diego kooky and rich.

So there you go. "you can expect his stories to be based on real science..."  but you would be wrong at least part of the time.

Hey guys! What is going on in this thread?

I just got back from the drug store, and there is no toilet paper, no boxed tissues, no face masks, and they are all out of sterno. Can you believe it? No sterno?

What the heck is with the run on sterno?
