20+ years ago the Lions could be counted on to play well on Thanksgiving.   They've been shiatting the bed badly since then.

Meanwhile the Football Team and Cowboys game was surprisingly entertaining

I wish Mike Valenti would have an awesome rant/meltdown about the Lions on Monday, but he's been so deflated by all the terrible sports teams in Michigan (college and pro) that he's gone straight to the apathy stage. He's almost borderline to be put on suicide watch at this point because the last couple weeks on his show he has sounded like a man who has given up on everything.

Mike Valenti desperately needed a vacation, which fortunately he's on this week. Hopefully when he get's back, he'll be able to comment on the firing of Matt Patricia and Bob Quinn.

Lions fan here. Usually watching the Thanksgiving game has been a long tradition.  I've missed the last two and avoided disappointment that I knew was going to happen.

The sports media in Detroit are the clowns that ran Caldwell out of Detroit. I was at the last Bears game that Caldwell was the coach of and won handedly. Driving home the only thing sports talk radio could talk about was how nice it will be with Caldwell gone. My dad and I were both like "wtf"?

What ran Caldwell out of town was the fact that Matt Patricia became available.

THIS.

At the time it was believed that the Lions had gone as far as they could under Caldwell and former Patriots assistant coach Matt Patricia would take them to the next level.

No one thought that the next level would turn out to be going backwards.

Which is why I stopped listening to them years ago.  And if Valenti need to be on suicide watch, I'm too busy for the next shift
