Mental breakdowns aren't amusing.  My Evangelical step brother in law (or something like that) decided to pour his entire wine collection down the sink.  He made a point of blathering about it after the fact, as well as the specific monetary value of each bottle...

We pretty much gave him the Nancy Pelosi Trump clap.

The only appropriate punishment is life in prison.  Regardless of mental health state.  Either they're crazy and shouldn't be around the public ever again, or they're an absolute monster who should never be around the public again.

I'm going to guess that you support the general character of the society that now drives people to these particular moments, and in that way, it reminds me of how Defense of the Ancients was such a bad game and designed by complete idiots, that when people began actively quitting matches, their answer was not to fix the reasons that people were quitting, but to ban them from playing again.

I guess I'm saying that the only reason I never win in real-life is because of my noob allies.

So this lady can destroy property and not have George Zimmerman shot her.
Absolutely fascinating.
It's amazing the difference in mentalities.
in one part of the world it's justified to follow a person for looking suspicious.
Meanwhile no one felt it necessary to stop this lady. It's disturbing no one can see the disconnect between these two situations.

In conclusion normal healthy people call the police and wait they do not engage and murder suspects.
Especially considering the police might very well do that for you anyway.

But it will cost them, because of her wanton destruction of private property, the prices of goods in the store will have to be raised, because margins in the grocery business are pretty thin. So in essence by not helping to stop her you will pay the price one way or another!

What were they going to do? Wrestle her to the ground covered with a sea of glass shards? Risk a slip and fall trying to subdue her on a sea of broken glass?

I was a professional bouncer, and this is a nightmare situation. For the woman THAT out of it. For the customers. For the staff. This is a grocery, not a club. Security, if you have any, is more worried about bad checks, shoplifters and fruit f*ckers. There is zero way of getting her out of that mess, without her consent, that doesn't involve potentially life threatening injury. Both to her or the folks looking to take her down. I wear TredSafes on the regular, and even with that, footing and leverage is sh*t. She's unpredictable. It's not anything anyone who isn't police wants to get involved in.

There's taking a bottle to the head, and then there's falling full weight onto a sea of broken bottles. Yeah, I'll let the cops handle this until she gets out of "Sooper Dangerous Slip-and-Fall Land."

Seriously. I cannot possibly overstate how dangerous this mess is.

I've had waitstaff fall into broken plates and glasses that they've tumbled from a dishwasher. The cuts from that sort of mess are just horrific. Like throwing your body into a bed of broken glass that no one had the politeness to shatter down to tiny bits. Sent one waiter to the hospital after an accident like that, and they removed a seven-inch shard from his arm. Entirely hidden between all the other cuts and punctures. Arms. Chest. Legs. Butt. Back. And with that much glass, you're going to get wide cuts as well as punctures. Lay open your arm down to the bone kind of slashes. That's just from a single glass rack or two and relatively controlled falls.

This? This is a sea of half bottles that will easily just perforate your belly, your back, your liver, your kidneys, your eyes, your face, and slash you open for seven or eight inches, easy. Her slip? I can only imagine how much glass she took on that alone. That was amazingly lucky, and it still looks like it sucked beyond belief. It could open up, or just straight up sever tendons. And folks want someone to rush into a grinder like that to wrass'l a crazy woman down, who has already hurt herself? You got a turtleback, a bunch of 90s hockey gear, and some goalie gloves, you go for it, but even if you had that kit, she'd still get even more hurt.

Just seeing the broken bottles still standing upright should terrify the sh*t out of anyone thinking about running over and grabbing her. Not just for your sake, but her's as well. You see something like this, you try to get them OUT of the "Glass RoboCoup" first, then you can restrain her. Rush in? You're getting cut, she's getting cut, and whoever rolled in is going to have nightmares for years.
