Pfft, everybody knows the real ball was destroyed in February, 2004. A group of Red Sox fans scoured the globe to find all the cursed items that tormented us all those years, and we destroyed them like horcruxes in true Harry Potter fashion. The Mets ball was smashed to smithereens with Bernie Carbo's bat.
