They are pretty damn good. The Brushfire with jerk chicken, mango, and habanero sauce is awesome.

Subby apparently has never had a delicious Torchy's Taco and should avail themselves to such at the earliest opportunity..

Touchy's is a pretty solid taco. Their breakfast tacos are on point.

Also, they sell these things called "lil nookies" which are balls of deep fried chocolate chip cookie dough dusted with powdered sugar. It's like eating diabetes.

They don't look bad, but I doubt they'd compete with an abuelita who's slinging $1 tacos from a trailer hooked up to her 20 year old Econoline, like we have all over the place out here.

Yeah, we just found out the old lady who has been doing dinners out of the local AMVet hall now has her own place.

Aw yeah. Watch america get all psyched about some subpar gringo tacos, simply because they're from Austin.

ProTip, your local gas station with a taqueria inside has better tacos than Torchys.

Not a fan.  Torchy's is a little like Panera bread in that it's basically upscale hospital food.

And then there's the mountains of little plastic sauce cups they go through every minute of every day.

Obviously this is a taste and preference issue. Your mileage may vary.

Good for them.  I like Torchy's. I like food truck tacos outside of bars. I like Taco Bell tacos once in a while. All Tacos are Beautiful.

Torchy's is good, but at $3+ per taco and needing at least four of those little things to kinda feel like I ate a meal, before getting a drink and not including sides...I don't feel inclined to go there much.

We have two here in Northwest Arkansas. My firm worked on the development plans. Interesting buildings - they have their own in-house architecture firm. But the tacos are sub-par and much too expensive. No lengua or cabeza? GTFO. Although we're spoiled here with legit taquerias and Hispanic grocers on every corner.

For a chain torchys is awesome, there were a lot of better independent places in Austin.

Also ask about the secret menu...

Don't shame people about what kind of taco they like.

They're a fast (ish) food chain, folks.  They don't compare well with a Michelin star restaurant either.  But compare them with Panera or something similar and they come out pretty well.

Disclaimer: I'm from Austin and grew up on food like they make.  It's not supposed to be Mexican, it's TexMex.

I love the queso, probably the best item on the menu. Sometimes I ditch the chips and just eat with a spoon.

Wall Street tacos.  $3-5 for a taco is about as un-street as you can get.
