It's election fraud!  They shouldn't have done anything until after the election.  It would be criminal to influence voters against a republican.

Huh. You hate to see it.

/OR DO YOU?!?!

2020-11-25 6:35:12 PM
Sadly, it will make little difference. The issue isn't whether he took liberties with the law or ethics - *wink* he did - the issue is whether we're going to elect a (((socialist))) carpetbagger to the Senate.

Perdue and Loeffler both skeevy regarding stocks, eh? You don't say.

I hope it has an effect on the January runoffs.

People who run for public office ought to be prohibited from owning any stocks at all.

Clearly the stock market has been too much of a distraction.

Additionally, they ought to be prohibited from purchasing stocks for a five year probationary period when they get out of office.

Immediate family ought to be forced to clear any stock purchases or transfers with an ethics committee first.

Get all of the wealth chasers out of office. They do nothing but damage while stuffing their pockets.

Yep.

Perdue was eventually cleared by the DOJ and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

2020-11-25 11:33:59 PM
The article is in the past tense.

Also, do Republicans care?  I feel like any "Look at the horrible thing this Republican did!" point Democrats make just gets met with "Yeah!  Isn't it great?" from Republican voters.  How do you convince people a candidate is terrible when it's the terrible parts they like?

Maybe we can find video of Purdue nursing a sick kitten back to health, or writing a check to a secular charity or something.

2020-11-25 11:40:05 PM
The article uses the past tense. So nothing came of it. And since the Dems are too nice to use this in attack ads, this means nothing.

2020-11-25 11:40:12 PM
The Georgia Senate runoff will be the most closely watched election in American history.

Good.

Stacey Abrams is undoubtedly taking every precaution under the sun to head off the inevitable cries of 'FRAUD!' if/when the Republican Trumpsters lose.  She's not going to take ANY chances.  On that you can rely.

Let's rock.

I've heard (and I'll have to find the article later) that Stacey Abrams has a list of potential new voters that ranges somewhere between 700,000 and 800,000.

Basically people too poor, disenfranchised, or otherwise fed up to bother voting in the presidential race.

Believe me, she's going to get these people to the polls if she has to farking wheelchair them in one-by-one.

This. I'd go even farther; if you're elected to a national office, or appointed to such (lookin' at you, Cabinet members and SCOTUS Justices), that (generous) salary is your sole source of income, for your entire tenure +5 years.

We need officials who are wiling to make some serious personal sacrifices.

It has already started. Remember when mail-in was the devil and absentee was okay? Well, now absentee is the devil because it is the same as mail-in.

Why, one might ask? Because Abrams has already signed 6 million up for them so it has to be fraud.

They have turbo charged the goal posts.

Martha Stewart was put in jail for lying to the FBI about her insider trading, not the trading itself.  She settled a civil suit with the SEC for about $200K and had to divest herself from a bunch of stuff, but no jail time.

This wouldn't have beem possible pre-William Barr.  Feds were blocked from announcing investigations during election season.

Barr took that leash off in hopes of targeting democrats.  Worked so well it seems.

Honestly, purdue isn't that well liked in Georgia.  People see him as a rich asshole, but only vote for him because he has an R.

Run offs have low turnouts historically.

Add in some extra demotivation for coming out for the dude and it's a recipe for people just staying home.

Add in Trump base all poopy pants for the GOP "not doing more" and you may have non-nutters also not coming out because they just don't care for the guy.

Nobody would run for office if they couldn't make a buck... outside of people who actually care.

This is a great idea!
