The only thing I fault him for is not having someone nuke his old tweets when he was named consulting producer for the show. And even then, I'm sure some asshole saved 'em and was waiting for their big GOTCHYA moment.

Otherwise? Fark off Twitterbabies looking to stir shiat by dragging ancient twats up.

I was going to switch around the adjectives in his tweet to make a funny but then it really sucked so I didn't.

This is Fark... Nobody cares. We all decided that he was either an awful person based on the headline... Or that we would defend it because we are sick of this PC crap.

Anyway, he addressed it years back saying:

I never did a public flogging thing for this but I did apologize personally to angry/hurt people who reached out personally. it was a joke so inept that it meant something very different in my head & I regret the ableist plain reading of it!

This is absolutely true, in the same way that being tall doesn't make someone great at basketball.

That doesn't mean there isn't a correlation between them.

Well, he wasn't wrong about the Canadian thing. I love Canadians, but the Blue Jay's fans that come down to games are the worst. A few years back, they were standing on street corners outside my condo just screaming at cars passing by. This wasn't even in Seattle proper.

You think the Canadian contingent at baseball games are bad, just wait til Seattle's hockey team starts playing.

It's Twitter. There is no context. Twitter went batshiat crazy on context with a cleaver and sledgehammer, shiat in it's open wounds and left it for dead

I don't get it, even people in wheelchairs can get hot and dehydrated especially if there are no wheelchair ramps to get them inside where they can enjoy air conditioning.  So if you see a hot person in a wheelchair, get them a glass of ice water and ask if you can help them into the shade.

First, it's a stupid thing to say, especially if you want to be palatable to a wide swath of people in order to entertain them on a G-rated family game show

Second, the "it's a joke" deflection actually makes it worse. Now you're saying -in your defense- that group of people is nothing more than the caricature and isn't worth considering.

I like Ken Jennings and was excited to see him host but this definitely tarnishes him for me. Not so much that he wrote it in the first place (that's just dumb so whatever) but for the "heh it's just a joke" part, and the "I'm not gonna flog myself publicly over it" part. He publicly flogged people in wheelchairs, he can publicly flog himself for being an insensitive jerk.

Same with Leafs fans, who much like Dolphins or Jets fans are incredibly obnoxious for a fan base with nothing to brag about in their lifetimes.

Much of fark is often enraged by way less than this, depending upon the person doing it.

NO!  We must hold every single person in the United States to a higher standard than the President of the United States.  POTUS should get to do and say whatever they want no matter how offensive, ignorant, racist and incredibly stupid.  It's the American way.
