I still have a basic subscription to FUNimation in hopes of seeing older anime titles I can't find anywhere else. This gives me hope.

Now if I can just find a service that helps me figure out what in anime title is based on a description of things that happened that would make my life complete. So many fans Subs from conventions decades ago that I just cannot remember the titles of.

That service is called the "Google Search Bar" you can get it as an app too. Very popular.

In the UK Gundam was never a thing when I was a nipper, but we did have Gatchaman, sort of. Only it was re-purposed as Battle of the Planets and cut to shreds to take out the violence, the narrative voids being filled by an annoying robot called 7-zark-7.

I wouldn't mind seeing the original series dubbed into english, if it exists

Sure, let me type this one in.

Anime from the late 80s with an Indian national that gets killed in a car accident resurrected by a crazy mad scientist that turns him into a cyborg. Indian national cyborg is unhappy with this and continues to blow up everything that makes him upset or does not give him oolong tea.

Huh, no results imagine that.

DoubleZeta was probably my favorite after the original and Chars CounterAttack,

if you have Hulu, check out Mobile Suit Gundam: Origin.

it covers highlights of the original series , redone, from Chars POV(ish).

it really hammers home how insideous Zeon's actions are in the original series.

Hey guys, related questions:

1. Are there any kid friendly Gundam series or movies? My son Is 8 and a half and Japanese (Hapa) and I was thinking of getting him some simple gundam models to build and maybe he could get into the show.

2.If Gundam is a bit too mature, what anime would be good for him?

3.What Gundam series is the best?

Are there any gundam or gundam-like games worth looking at nowadays? I haven't played a mecha game mechassault on the original xbox.

/Come to think of it, never played the armored core series. Might need to dust off the ps2

1.  Investigate "Gundam Build Fighters."  I think that show has the youngest target audience of any of the Gundam series.
3.  From what I've seen, 0080: War in the Pocket is the closest to being the consensus choice for best series among the fandom.

In case you find it helpful, this Anime News Network article gives a brief description and a quick review of each Gundam series.

So I just watched Gundam Origin and I was able to find a stream of the first of the three Gundam compilation movies from way back.  Couldnt find the other 2.  Supposedly this is the order to watch.  I need to get in on this Funimation thing. From there I can find the others to watch in order on the various streaming platforms.  You're right about the insidiousness of Zeon and Char is a devious asshole.

At that point in the story he's got every right to be devious, really. fark the Zabis. CCA is where people can't seem to accept what he does but the signs are there throughout 0079 and Zeta. The dude just can't handle not being able to solve his problems from a mobile suit cockpit, especially knowing he's a middling Newtype at best

It's best to watch UC Gundam in release order instead of chronologically since you go in with different knowledge. For instance, the ending of War in the Pocket hits very differently if you've already seen Zeta.

8 is a great age for Miyazaki movies, fundamental can be hard because the stories are fairly complex. It's a good thing but might lose his interest.

Gundam wing seemed pretty kid friendly when I watched it. Or go robotech.

The transformers animated series (that's its name) was pretty good.

I know Wing was really popular when it aired on Toonami, but I think it was really terrible overall. It's story was a mess.

For a kid, I'd go with G-Gundam. Its absolutely ridiculous in the best way.

He farked over 3 "main or side characters" between origins and 0079 movie 1 without the suit.

I haven't seen War in the Pocket and it has been a while since I've seen Zeta.  So I think I'll go in order at least based on what a couple of sites recommended.  At one point I just watched a bunch of the series (seed, unicorn, etc) so I'm trying the thing all over again.

I give them credit for trying to retell all of the "early" UC stories in 50 episodes and it has the best looking enemy/grunt suits in the franchise.

That said Build Fighters even over G Gundam is a really good suggestion for a kid-friendly show, since it's about building and battling with models none of it is "real." It actually lets some of the battles in the show get absolutely brutal specifically because no one gets hurt at the end of the day.
