"You were only joking? OK. Then please how explain how that was funny."

Say that every time some asshole says he was "only joking."

"Why do men join the Proud Boys? 'Most of it is just to fight,' Schultz said. 'They want to join a gang. So they can go fight antifa and hurt people that they don't like, and feel justified in doing it.' "

It really is that simple.

I heard there is a club where you can do that. But I'm not supposed to talk about that.

This isn't the first time they did it either. They interviewed a Boogaloo Boy in June who claimed the movement was to protect the protesters. https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/03/us/boogaloo-extremist-protests-invs/index.html

He was arrested in September and charged with attempting to support Hamas. https://www.newsweek.com/boogaloo-benjamin-ryan-teeter-terrorism-hamas-floyd-protests-1529852

Seriously bad reporting. Stop trying to normalize Nazis.

thorpe: It really is that simple.

All life goals are about violence.  It is the shape and means by which the violence emerges that determines the character of an individual.

Compare this particular violence to that seen on the Poltab, where people try to kick each other with their words, rather than their fists, using digital communication as a surrogate for the thrill of knocking an eight-year-old unconscious.

There is a reason I will be going to Poltabcon, and when they are giving the speech on how to manage with your crippling resentment and lack of self-esteem, it's going to be body parts everywhere, as I push the four-ton anvil from the rafters.

Unfortunately, in this moment, it is far heavier than I thought, and it'll take me five minutes to drop it, perhaps giving a roving band of adventurers the opportunity to embark in a cliffhanger sequence that culminates in a dramatic performance loved by the crowd.

This is because even creatures who loathe violence because they are bad at it (the Poltab) appreciate a good fight when they see it, which makes this the chance to see the error of your ways.  The more violence you commit on a day-to-day basis, the better, and I will be there with you.

I assume we will end up banding together because a lowborn poster like you could never defeat me.

After 3-4 years of "in-depth" reporting on what makes these guys tick, and trying to understand just what their grievances are, the only thing I want to read about these assholes is an obituary or an indictment.

For Christ's sake, the Klan in its heyday didn't get this kind of coverage. Farking enough already.

Here's the thing: it doesn't matter why you do racist stuff. Whether you're sincerely racist or ironically racist, the effects of your actions are exactly the same. It makes absolutely no difference what your motivation was.

So you can claim it was all for the lulz, but it doesn't make you any less of a garbage person.

2020-11-25 8:58:05 AM
Must be fun interviewing for jobs when they can Google your name and find out what a racist piece of shiat you are.

Or trying to do in dates.

Or going home for Christmas.

Oh but I get it, cancel culture right? Consequences, who needs em?

I already heard that it was all a hilarious joke on the Joe Rogan show.  So when they're kicking your head in, it's your fault for not getting what a hilarious ironic joke it is.  Gotcha!

Joe Rogan agreed with the guest, so you know it's true.  That guy has an iron will.

I had to unfriend a long time friend because he fell in with the PB crowd. He used to be logically conservative, but went on full supremacist this year. He of course works as a contractor for Canadian government, of all places in Indigenous affairs branch. The amount of not right on his part, I couldn't sum up in words.

His hate for immigrants sealed the deal, this is a country of equals, not fascists. I am an immigrant, my saving grace is looking and sounding and achieving like the PB wet dream. It breaks their heads when I tell them that they can't use my accomplishments to bolster their ridiculous 'better because white' claims. My achievements are my own and your DNA adjacency isn't good enough to satisfy the transitive property in logic.

This year has shown us all who we truly are; some will walk through with heads held high, but most will acquire a dead eye stare pointed at the ground.

"out of context" is the biggest weasel phrase I keep hearing, constantly.

"The bible endorses and gives the rules for slavery."
You're taking it out of context. It's the good book.
"Great, then give me the context for slavery being moral."
......

"It's in the Bible, and the rules for slavery coming from God."

I have seriously heard people say that -- albeit they were Christians (who sometimes interpret the Hebrew Bible in ways that Jews would never do). Actually, I should look up the rabbinical commentary on the slavery passages. Now, I'm curious.

Media have to have scary groups. ISIS was scary but they kind of fizzled. Imagine the joy when antifa vs proud boys stories could be pumped out on the regular? The only thing that'll make these charklefarks go away is a new scary group

Although I can't imagine what could be scarier than a bunch of closet cases screaming about cereal while their gang beats them off, erm, beats them up

Since my grandmother describes Antifa as "anyone who doesn't watch Fox or go to church" I'm not only a member, but an officer.

Your recruitment offer is in the mail.  Don't ask how we know where you live.

C'mon man... the first rule of antifa is you don't talk about antifa. : D

I had a couple of roommates years ago when I was living in Dublin who were active members of Dublin Antifascist Action... both bookish intellectual types who spent their free time organizing protests against right wing politicians, collecting clothes and food for homeless folks, and writing newsletters.

Honestly, I was impressed by how organized and focused they were for their age... I was a farking mess, myself. More interested in getting farked up and getting laid than any kind of politics. : D

They put up with me, I think, but they also opened my eyes to a lot of things I was a stereotypical clueless Yank about.

The Proud Boys are a pathetic joke, and I'm embarrassed that liberals were afraid of them as much as they were.

They draw their "power" by attacking where they suspect that "defenseless, gunless" liberals congregate (Portland, much of the West Coast, NYC, etc.) and make a lot of noise, but when they are faced with the slightest resistance, they fold into their shell like a turtle.

That's why I've always been pro-gun rights, especially during the past four years. You cannot rely on the Democratic Party to save you from these clowns 24/7, and I hope that liberals have seen a need for the 2A in terms of it being a defense for marginalized communities instead of simply ceding it off because they think that guns = right wing.
