There isn't anything in the world that someone won't fark up for a profit, is my takeaway from the recent enthusiasm for undersea mining.

People playing life like Minecraft but with 7 billion on the server, you can actually do a lot of damage to an earth sized world and it turns out you can't just put a layer of dirt over mistakes and call them "fixed" IRL.
