It's the last minute "Quick, Call out a bunch of responsible policy changes Biden's going to make so we can claim he stole it from us" routine.

Like copying someone's term paper, but volunteering to be the first presenter in the class.

I had been told that trump had already done everything possible before. He stopped flights from gyna in February. What else could he possibly do??? More than one thing?

Is this alleged task force pro-virus or anti-virus? And are they still trying to take credit for vaccines they didn't help create?

It seems to me that American culture is so extremely individualistic to the degree that collective action against a pandemic is seen as oppression. And this culture is reflected by the elected politicians. Future pandemics will continue to disportationally affect this nation when compared to other western nations.

2020-11-24 6:52:41 PM
This is just the start of Trump/GOP whining about how the Biden administration isn't doing enough about COVID-19 while simultaneously taking away Americans' rights and forcing us all to wear socialist face masks.

2020-11-24 6:54:03 PM
This won't make a difference unless Trump gets on TV and addresses the nation, like a fireside chat type of thing, and tells all the numb-nuts to do it. He won't.

2020-11-24 6:54:38 PM
I'm already working from home, masks every time I go out, not seeing family, have no friends.

What more do you want!!

There will not be an effective response as long as so many Americans believe that freedom means not having to take responsibility for their actions.

T**** should have said this to all Americans when he told Woodward.

Fark these people.

We will need to work so hard to beat Trumpism back.  It is time we start working locally like the R's have for the last 40 years.  The Overton window has a portion that has past the reality border.  God speed to us all.

When will they finally see that their actions are actually destroying the freedoms they are afraid of losing?
Stupid is incurable 😒
I wish to be wrong about that.

Probably because many of the families simply cannot afford funeral and burial costs ($9000) or even cremation ($6000) right now.

It also means we've absolutely lost the space race.  Actual colonization of space will require the kind of rigid rules and sacrifice that only submariners understand.

Sadly, this.

I live in a city which entered a six day lockdown six days ago, it was actually lifted after three days based on new information about COVID in the community here. It wasn't fun to do but as a community we seemed to get it done, we stayed home to the extent possible and wore masks when out, lots of businesses closed (no takeaway food, certainly no dining in, non-essential shops just closed for the three days). It was not great for my anxiety, but I got it done.

I value my freedoms, but I value our freedoms more. Our freedoms include the right not to die a horrible death from a respiratory illness which can be avoided by social distancing and mask wearing. If the cost is me wearing a mask and the reward is people not dying, it's a farking no-brainer.

Australia is managing COVID. Japan, with its higher and denser population, is managing COVID. It can be done with simple precautions which we're adopting. We haven't politicised masks.

The UK could have done much better but BoJo is so obsessed with not crashing the economy post Brexit that he's farked it up. Trump, biatching about Biden wearing a mask "too much" shortly before he contracted COVID and was hospitalised, is far worse again.

I imagine now that the transition is finally underway, Biden will learn there is no federal coronavirus plan.

Oh, yes. There are mountains of bullshiat to Wade through, and most of Trump's staff are complete idiots spending their time strategizing how to destroy everything good (I'm only slightly exaggerating).

I took the numbers from a previous article (don't remember which one, sorry).
I poked around a little and found this info.

Here's the link.

Burial plots and funeral costs are a hell of alot more around here. Dying with all the fixins' is absurdly expensive, mostly reserved for the upper middle class and above folks really.
