Halfabee64: A nylon worm gear on a steel rack lifting a 225 lb garage door, seriously?

You sound like a person with a poorly balanced garage door. I have an old 500# double-bay garage door. If I detach it from the lifter I can lift it with my fingers. The coils should almost perfectly counterbalance the weight of the door.

Halfabee64: jjwars1: Halfabee64: starlost: Englebert Slaptyback: Weidbrewer: forteblast: Weidbrewer: Is Black Friday even still really a thing? At least as far as surprise sales go?  Doesn't everyone pretty much have it all laid out - if not already available - by Nov 1st these days?

Yeah, it's like black all of November now. I got a 75" TCL TV from Best Buy last week. It's not a bad secondary TV for 500 bucks, but the Android TV interface is slow as shiat so I might have to grab a Roku or something for it.

Lol...No sarcasm, that was a fantastic stealth humble-brag.  I am seriously impressed.

A $500 television is a "humble-brag"?

Really?

Wow.

wait until that off brand tv from best buy or walmart goes tits up because the components used were one percent cheaper than standard quality and brands.

A brass worm gear, a brass worm gear, my kingdom for a brass worm gear.  shiat is engineered to fail within months of the warranty expiring.  A nylon worm gear on a steel rack lifting a 225 lb garage door, seriously?  A plastic idler pulley on a lawn mower spinning at 3,200 rpm?  Plastic screws and washers?  You save like what... a few cents a unit?  How much is your reputation worth?  I went through three dehumidifiers within 10 years and you have to pay extra to dispose of them, even though the coolant leaking out is probably the failure point.  I got sick of replacing them and bought a monster Aprilair unit with a 10-year warranty that was basically a 10-12,000 BTU air conditioner in a different cabinet.  It lasted for...10 years.

Link to dehumidifier?

They make smaller, cheaper units.  This thing roared non-stop during the summer and I could hear it through the floor.  I had it next to the sump to handle the 12 gallons of water a day.   Mine had copper coils but that was 14 years ago.

Thank you!

ZMugg: BeotchPudding: 'Black Friday' is racist and should be renamed.

"Attractive and Successful African American Friday"?

"Friday of Color"?

It also has a Diwali flavor to it. Bonus.

Gubbo: Bob Falfa: I *hate* Black Friday.

That being said, I'll be looking for a deal on some kitchen knives, as outlined in this thread.

Actually. Now might be a good time
