Spain remembers the first wave and how badly they was hit. They're not going to sit by idly and let that happen again if they can possibly prevent that.

It was, but it's more likely they got it from American soldiers who brought it from Kansas.  

Begoggle: No I didn't, because I'm not illiterate.

Not even counting German, where six is sechs, a bunch of European languages have similar words for the two, and I have trouble keeping track of which words are French (which I learned in elementary school, but mostly can't spell) vs Spanish (which I've absorbed as a Californian, but can't always spell), and sometimes I also mix it up with seven.
