The article starts with government leaders. Can't it just go straight to CEOs? Else why not title it "leaders"?

Because every single spoken word or headline must be political.

Female leaders often do worse than male leaders though.

Because when things look certain to go south, the males hand the reins (and the blame) to the women.

Then when times start to improve, the males emerge to take credit for fixing "that woman's mess".

Seriously, it's a whole thing known as the glass cliff.
