Angus is a legendary riff-machine. They may be simplistic and sometimes repetitive, but they're responsible for more head bobs, fist pumps and air guitar solos than 90% of all hard rock songs ever written.

fark yes.  Anyone who says AC/DC only has one song needs to recognize, they have three.  The Brian Johnson hard rock song that everyone thinks of, the Bon Scott bluesy, swampy song, and Ride On, which is pure art and very distinct from even other Bon-era songs.

Their early stuff was written with George Young (Angus and Malcolm's older brother) and Harry Vanda, who were in the Easybeats and had a huge hit with "Monday I got Friday on my mind", which has a ton of chords. They decided that the songs were to be written on a piano, and made as simple as possible.

I feel sorry for these guys in the tiktok video. I couldn't imagine trying to start a band these days. They probably grew up on computers and no concept of the joys of finding other people to jam with, or even using it as a way to get laid.
We used to laugh at ACDC, saying that they called themselves that because those were the only chords they knew, but they farking rocked, and more important than the chords was the groove, and Bon farking Scott. They put TONS of miles in before they ever got anywhere. I cant see kids these days willing to do anything like that, with the way the music industry is these days.

When I saw them in concert back in '96, the Seattle Times had an article promoting the upcoming show.

I am paraphrasing, but Angus Young said something like this:

"Remember the cartoon where Yosemite Sam said "I paid for the high diving act, and I am going to see the high diving act."  We try to give that to our fans every night."
