This was an episode featuring Carl Weathers and directed by Carl Weathers.

What did Carl Weathers ever do to you, subby?!

Perhaps he was chastised for throwing away a bone, when he could have got a stew going.

RC baby yoda.  I have had so much fun with this thing.

Not every show has to be Band of Brothers.

Also, it was a fun episode. Yes, Gina Carano is a terrible actor, but so what? Tons of action. Lots of winks and nods to the original movies. Baby Yoda being über-cute... what more do you want?

I don't mind her acting. She's waaaay better than Rousey (granted, that's not saying much). Her Trumpian support is a big turn off, so I won't shed a tear if/when her character bites it.

Stray thoughts:
Now this takes place between RotJ and TFA, right? so those tube experiments could possibly be proto-Snoke.
And Gideon seems to be building(?) elite death troopers. Don't know if they're robots or humans underneath.
Loved the speeder troopers screwing up the slalom down the cliffside and blowing up, great touch.
BY needs another floating pram. Mando needs both his hands.
Mando should've killed the doctor when he had the chance.
"M-Count" - Is this as close as they'll get to mentioning midichlorians? I hope so.

This episode was more Star Wars than all of the episodes of the prequel and sequel trilogies combined.

The only thing missing was the John Williams theme tune.

You know what?  I love that Ennio Moricone knockoff music so much I don't miss John Williams a bit.  If anything, it's a better fit for what is effectively Kung Fu in space.

I feel like that whole chase scene was taken from me playing with my Star Wars toys as a kid growing up in the 80s.

The Mandalorian is never original, but it uses the tropes and cliches well.

As a Farker said on here, the first 3 Star Wars movies worked because they used western and Japanese/Samurai inspirations. The next 6 Star Wars movies didn't work because they used Star Wars as the inspiration. This is a return to the original roots and inspirations.

Suck at security, obviously.  Heck, they might be sick too.

So, one possibility for the 'Project' that folks don't seem to be talking about....

Look again at the bodies in the (bacta) tanks... Kinda look familiar with the scars/deformities...

I'm thinking that Gideon's project is creating Snoke.

That's imperial health care, for you.  The nurses are probably the same as the torture droid from Jabba's palace.

I just watched the episode. While I agree it's better than any OTA series, it's still a sad echo of the former Star Wars universe.

I hope that they get to new and original material sometime this season. Otherwise it's a fairly predictable windup toy.

I still watch it, but I'm not anxiously counting down the hours until the next episode.

Anybody who likes Pascal in this or Narcos needs to see Prospect on Netflix. Gritty dirty space opera with a western gold rush theme and an ingenue teen actress who is farking stellar. Cant say enough good things.

This show is Lone Wolf and Cub, in space.

I get impatient with the side-quests and diversions, but i still like it overall

That poor spaceship has just had the living shiat beaten out of it and it keeps on tcking like the Bluesmobile.

Well at least they found a way to make the whole Midichlorians thing an even worse idea than it was before.

And "super soldiers?" Really? Hasn't that kind of been done to death already? What action series hasn't already tried that tired shiat?

I thought it was very entertaining.  Lots of running and gunning.  Good lines, just enough Baby Yoda, and the Imperial plot thickens.

I don't give a damn about your stormtroopers.  I could watch stormtroopers fall to their deaths all day.

Does that make me bad for imagining her ability to crush my skull between her thick, creamy thighs that are connected to her wide, child-bearing hips?

Had one too.

Look, the plot was like an '80s action movie, the dialogue sounded like an '80s action movie, action sequences were just like an '80s action movie.  Why not let Carl Weathers direct it.

The Prisoner was such a great concept for a show like this, that it is difficult to understand how it ended up so bad.

It is an episode of "The Mandolorian" that is astoundingly bad.

They have a whole gang of guest stars, and they are all trying to chew the scenery the hardest. Except Bill Burr, who just seems like he's coming down from a bender and doesn't understand where he is.
