(CBS Boston)   Come for the drive-through holiday lights display stretching for a mile, stay for the townsfolk outraged about ... eugenics and radioactive oatmeal?   (boston.cbslocal.com) divider line

There are three keys words to this article.

"Closed" and "Former" for the facility and "Karen" for the ignorant moron complaining about it.

But, it is Boston. They can't talk, can't eat, can't vote and clearly can't enjoy anything.

Ya know, I wouldn't mind auto-play videos if it was about the actual news article, but it's infuriating when it's a video about a completely different story..  Like, it's common sense right? The lead in auto-play video should be about the story you came to read about?

The light show is critical to the club's bottom line and mission, because so many other fundraisers have been canceled this year and its budget is about one-third of a normal year, she said.

Welcome to the party, pal!

If we can't do anything fun anywhere bad things happened, we can't do anything fun anywhere.

It is probably the only place that they can find a long road that isn't in use. Let them have it. Do something fun to dispel the ghosts of the past. If they are thinking about putting a High school there, then what's the harm?

The High School is already being built on a different property, for which much Anusol has already been expended.  There  are several other places in town with long enough roads for this, starting with any one of the three house/farm/estate museums in town.

About 10% of the town is vehemently opposed to this use of the Fernald property.  Another 10% feels that it is a helpful bit of healing to create a festival display on a piece of land with such a sad history.  The rest of us DGAF.  (Percentages determine by detailed analysis of gluteal extractions.)

And it will culminate with the building being burned to the ground.

Because erasing history makes it go away.

Over the years I have explored every part of that property, it has gone to hell since the city took it over.

It would be much more suited for Halloween than Christmas. It looks like a post-apocalyptic college campus. But it certainly has plenty of roads. I might even go for the light show.

She has a bit of an Amy Adams look.

Also, that graphic should be "Trooper shot in Hyannis."  Much funnier.

They literally played horror movies on a pop up drive-in screen through Halloween, but suddenly holiday lights are disrespectful. The place is a beautiful property, people/teens take Instagram photos, it's open to walking dogs... It's not what it was, it's just vacant building and land.
