OK I get it, the law hasn't taken effect yet. But do you really have to bust people for something that will be legal in a short while? Especially something as small as a possession charge? Because that's just being a dick for the sake of being a dick. There's no reason to crack down on something that is only illegal short of a formality. None. This why it's not just cops that are bastards, but prosecutors too.

Uh huh, uh huh.  And what exactly would be the purpose of arresting people for a "crime" that will very shortly not be a crime?  Who will it benefit?  What social good does it provide?

Pffft ridiculous.........I dont smoke anymore (well once every other month -- maybe) but know a lot about cultivation and am very "experienced". My neighbor has cancer and she wanted weed but wanted to grow it herself.....she is very earthy that way..So I helped all last season. 2 Sativa, 2 Indica - I taught her everything over the course of the grow.  Excellent yield and more weed than she knows what to do with.....In fact there is still more to manicure right now.....I can tell when she has either had the Sativa or the Indica and I say so....she tells me Im a god....She had a marvelous new experience with this endeavor - hopefully she survives.  I was proud of my work, my product and the good I did for the community/my neighbor.  Fuk this legality crap - some people really benefit from its properties..... but hey im in CA so.....nobody cares.....

If everyone grew their own.....there would be no gangster/black market/street dealing crap anymore....its a fukin plant man!!!!! it just takes time, effort and care.....How weed is even a "thing" with the cartels as a revenue source anymore I just dont understand.....

I even got my staunch republican dad (85 yrs) to start smoking/ingesting some......staunch republican - he likes very much.....

Clog up the court system to raise bonuses and all that.

It would be news if a municipality stopped enforcement of these drugs in light of their future decriminalization. It doesn't make any sense to keep prosecuting these "crimes" while they are still technically illegal when in just a few months it will be legal.

If you must... just do it indoors, k?

Sounds tasty. I just order mine off the web so they're usually in gummy form, there's also a cannabis infused iced tea power that I like a lot.

I found some freezies with THC in them last time, I thought those were a cool idea.

I would love baked edibles but I don't want to make them and I mail order my stuff so they wouldn't be too fresh by the time they arrive, oh well.

The cops were on stage at an unpermitted, maskless Christian concert in the city park a couple weeks ago.  The city *might* fine the organizers.  There isn't a good pic with the cops, but this is a pic from the stage.  Yes, they got to set up a whole concert stage then host a concert and nobody even attempted to stop them.

Maricopa County is dropping all pending cases for possession.  But I guess the cops are still gonna be dicks about it?

"The Maricopa County Attorney's Office announced Monday it is dismissing all pending and unfiled cases involving marijuana possession and paraphernalia charges."

Fark_Guy_Rob: fzumrk: Let me guess, they are going to enforce this crap but not enforce the mask mandate that might actually save a few lives.

Is there a mask mandate in Arizona at all? This was only a few days back:

A statewide mask mandate, a 14-day quarantine for people coming from out-of-state and enforcement on bad actors violating COVID-19 guidelines are among the asks from Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, Tucson Mayor Regina Romero, Flagstaff Mayor Coral Evans and Tolleson Mayor Anna Tovar.

the local mandates are so flimsy I don't see how anyone could enforce them. Phoenix as an example: https://www.phoenix.gov/newsroom/em-and-hs/1353

Those with a medical condition, mental health condition, developmental disability, or are otherwise covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act.Children under two years old [ amended by County Order].
People whose religious beliefs prevent them from wearing a face covering.
Restaurant patrons while they are eating and/or drinking.
Individuals exercising outdoors or while walking or exercising with other people from the same household, if physical distancing of 6 feet from others who are not your family members can be maintained.
People engaging in organized group or team sports, exercise or other physical activities where it is not practicable or feasible to wear a mask or physically distance.
People in settings where it is not practical or feasible to wear a face covering, including when obtaining or rendering goods or services, such as the receipt of dental services or medical treatments.

I can have a mental health condition... it's pretty hard to tell. I can have a religious belief too, without any way for a cop to know that I do. 'exercising' is so vague and to include all forms of activity. If I'm walking, I'm exercising. Yoga is basically just standing, in fancy ways... And that's exercise.

The fact that they give exemptions for eating in restaurants shows pretty clearly that they don't care.

There is in Maricopa County, not statewide, and it's not enforced.  Some cities also have their own mandates (the cities put them in place first, then Maricopa County folded under pressure from the mayors).  But, again, it's not enforced, at all.  The Christian concert I posted a pic of was actively flouting the rules, and the city doesn't even know if they can cite them.

I won't argue that the mask laws are nearly worthless with the number of loopholes they have put in.  However, the police enforce other flimsy laws when they want to.  Some AZ jurisdictions do have a fine penalty and/or consider mask violations a misdemeanor. They could write up tickets or even arrest people if they wanted to. If someone wants to claim an exemption, all a cop has to do is say "I disagree, here's your ticket, pay your $200 or take a day off work to come to court to fight it."

Kinda related. When my state first passed the right-turn-on-red law, i started doing it the next day. But the law would not be in effect for one year. LOL
The delay was so they would have time to put up the no turn on red signs. And other things.
I stopped doing it once i found out the delay. No tickets :)

I mean, in the park, on the bar patio, movie theater parking lots. It's literally EVERYWHERE except where cops happen to be looking at the moment.

no shiat. my last two plants were a very nice sativa, and one plant only yielded about 3/4oz. while the other was a little less than 3oz. very nice stuff, tho.

/i'm allowed to have up to 12oz. at a time, but if i grew the max allowable i'd be WAY over (6 flowering, six in veg over 14", and six in veg under 14").

Cops are always butthurt whenever weed becomes legal.

For one, a lot of people have weed with them. Another thing, it has a strong smell.

So if you are a cop, and you don't like someone for any reason, you can often just bust them for weed.

Leading to massive butthurt. No more "I smell weed, let's search the car."

In my hometown there's literally a law that says you can't drive a car through Main Street.

Well, to be fair, going throughit would damage the street, the car, anyone inside.
And to be honest, I'd really like to see someone actually do it.

You'd think within a hundred years someone would have done it. Of course I implore everyone wanting to do that to think twice because the cast iron pipes delivering gas have literally rusted away.

Glad my parents don't use gas and stay several miles out of reach.
