I want Slappy and Goodfeathers over them and Rita.

Also want more Good Idea/Bad idea. And the little kid telling the stories about Jimmy Beaman's mom.

The Randy Beaman kid got kind of stupid, Chicken Boo got old. But give me Slappy, or ELSE!

Weird?  I guess I do wear a disguise to look like other guys.  But I'm not a man.  I'm a chicken boo.

No Slappy, please.
Goodfeathers? That was one note joke that ran for more time than it had any right to but it worked in the original run. Now? I don't think it would.

Are you saying the act is stale?  Are you telling me that you're some kind of Ph.d. expert in comedy, and that your opinion is so great that you can literally tell the rest of the world what is funny and what isn't?  Do you mean to say that your very thoughts have the power to make us laugh or not laugh based on what you think of the jokes we're hearing?  Is that what you're trying to say?

I actually use a Randy Beaman bit as my phone greeting.

It's amazing how many spam calls it puts off.

Once in an online Star Trek roleplaying game I played a 28th century self-guided phaser sent back to the 24th century by a typo on a requisition form.  It had a slight telepathic field built in so most people wouldn't notice it, and when it first arrived in the 24th century flew through a coat hanger with a security uniform hanging off it which got stuck on it.  Ensign Phaser "You're the strong silent type, eh?  A real loose cannon." was given a position on the ship's security team.  There was a vulcan character who became increasingly almost-emotional trying to convince the rest of the crew that it wasn't a person, it was just a phaser.  Good times.

My kids are excited. They never get any of the celebrity references in the old episodes. I wonder what they will have instead of "while Bill Clinton plays the sax"?

My 4 year old thinks the "bologna in our slacks" line is the high point of comedy.

I loved the original series, and tried not to let my hopes get too high for the reboot. I really, really tried. But, damn it, every piece of news I saw got them just a bit higher. And watching the reviews of people who got advance screeners from Hulu did NOT help. Can't wait for Friday. Binge watch party!!!

Pretty sure Slappy's voice actor is dead.

That said, while I loved the show as a kid, I can't justify yet another streaming service to see the update. Getting real sick of this.

They apparently had a few variations including stuff about income tax.

Animaniacs (1993-1998) ALL intro variations [don't go crazy!!!]

Well I'll be damned. In that case there is no reason not to have Slappy skits. This is an outrage. And I will use this as the excuse not to watch and not because I am a cheap bastard.

A much better review than the gizmodo one yesterday. That clown said its stuck in the 90s and tried doing some cancel culture on it because the Animaniacs use the terms crazy and looney which is harmful to people suffering from mental illness and reflects badly on our society.

As someone with diagnosed depression, fark you buddy. I'll take my Yakko, Wakko, & Dot and laugh through it.

I read this one as well and holy crap was it bad -- but par for the course for G/O Media these days. Anyone whining that Animaniacs isn't conforming to the AP Style book sounds like one of the cartoon censors from the first series and deserves to have a piano dropped on their head.

Also MRA types who whine about the "never mansplain-y" joke in the trailer deserves an anvil dropped on their head as well -- mock the joyless scolds wherever they are.

Our family lovedKatie Kaboom. Our daughter's name is Kate and when she hit around 11 she would go from zero to Armageddon in no time flat and usually for no reason. After she had calmed down we'd sing the song

For no reason:

- Should return:
Good Idea/Bad Idea
Mime Time
Slappy
Randy Beaman's Friend
Chicken Boo

- Should get a cameo:
Goodfeathers
Buttons and Mindy
Minvera Mink
Mr. Director
Rita and Runt

- Should walk by a graveyard with these names:
Katie Kaboom
The Hippos
The Flame
Elmyra (preferably outside Pinky and the Brain's home)

YES.

I just finished watching all the original series of Animaniacs on Hulu the other day in preparation for the new season starting.  I was just the right age when the original came out; I was old enough to get 90% of the jokes but still young enough to laugh at just about anything stupidly funny. After watching the original episodes there are several songs / bits that need updating.  Someone already posted about Yakko's World, but there is also the Presidents song (last line is about Bill & Hillary), and I'm sure there were others too that I just can't think of right now.
I hope the Pinky & The Brain parts are as good as they were in the past.  Maybe the other side characters will be in some episodes too, I wasn't a fan of the Hippos, but the rest of them, YES! (And that YES! should be heard in The Brain's voice of course).
