student government asked if we at the station could announce all day to remind people to vote.

my response was "no."

if you are not smart enough to already know that today is election day, then i don't want you helping make decisions that affect me in the first place.

Anyone catch the NMA 40th anniversary gig the other week online?
Apparently it was pretty good & there was so much demand they had to stream it again a few times

I had no idea they had been around for 40 years to be fair.
The Cure's 40th was a serious belter. I was way too young to be around when they kicked off but that Hyde Park show in 2018 was something else.

They seem to get worse with age.

I think I'll go there when it gets seasonable

That one has to be the worst ever.
You need to be very crafty to make reasonable a song lyric.
There are words that should not work in songs & that one does not.
Pocket is another but Chrissie Hynde pulled it off somehow

There's also badly thought-out lyrics...

Tonight there's gonna be a jailbreak, somewhere in this town

this really is such a good album. it doesn't get enough love because it's not early enough in their discography.

I think it got a beating because they went full shoulder-pad eighties with it.
It isn't their best, but it's still very good.
