Sadly absentee ballots are easy to pick out of a pile and .. get lost

took me 2 weeks to get a package from CA to WI.  It sat at my post office for 11 days before getting delivered

Being as Trump is trying to dismantle and defend the postal service, wouldn't it make more sense for the ballots to be delivered on time?

Everyone knows its going to be a Biden landslide, so wouldn't it be in their best interst that every vote for Biden be counted?

Pro tip: You can return your completed ballot directly at the local election office. Don't fall for the fake Republican dropboxes though, or the fake Republican election officials.

The postal service reported significant delays this summer after cost-cutting measures were implemented by new Postmaster General Louis DeJoy. DeJoy ordered the dismantling and deactivation of mail sorting machines, barred overtime and required carriers and trucks to start routes at certain times, regardless of whether the mail was ready, resulting in widespread slowdowns.

Many of those efforts were halted by court order.

Sounds like someone was getting ready for the election. Especially those sorting machines, which take an enormous amount of work off of the postal carriers.

I'm not too worried about the fake Republican drop-boxes - the only ones I have heard about are being placed where they expect only Republicans to be dropping off ballots, so they'll probably get to their destination.

I'm glad I'm not relying on USPS for anything that needs to get there on time.  My landlord lives a half-mile from me so I just walk over to his house and hand-deliver my rent check.  Other than that, it's 100% electronic bill payment.  Otherwise, I'd worry about credit card payments incurring late fees, and/or things like car insurance getting canceled because the insurance company didn't receive my payment timely.

Mailed on the 12th, arrived on the 21st. Ordered from the same place multiple times, usually takes 2-3 days.

If you go in person to a drop box or polling center, you are a corona virus sympathizer and an enemy of good people who stay inside and don't make themselves carriers or potential hosts to the corona virus weapon.

Lock down people!  Mail in your vote.  The good leaders have been telling us to do this for Months!  If you live in a non blue place, move to a blue place and be among good people, and not viral weapons platforms.

1) Why are they mailing packages? They should be mailing letters the size of mail-in ballots.

2)"The news organization has tracked short-distance delivery times by sending certified mail "
Certified mail is a lot slower than regular first class in my experience.

Ssssh! They can't comprehend that it might just be "the Post Office handles about 2.6 billion pieces of mail per week, and has never, ever been particularly efficient at moving individual letters around."

It's not that President Trump magically made the Post Office slower, it's that we shouldn't be trusting this stuff to the mail in the first place.

Come on now. If the post office was always this inefficient, certainly there would be pop culture references to it going back decades. If fact it would probably be comedic cliché by now. But never once has anyone made such a joke.

How dare you besmirch the noble history of the post office.

I just recently took a job as a city mail carrier assistant. Left a DBA job with a winery to do it. Today was my fourth day delivering solo. I'd read all the horror stories about us CCAs working 60+ hour weeks, and was looking forward to it. Last week, I worked a little under 52 hours. Yesterday, I brought a ballot back to the office because it didn't have an apartment number (>1000 apartment student housing). I went to my supervisor and expressed my concern that it was political mail, and that I would be happy to deliver it after clocking out, using my own personal vehicle if necessary, if we could get the apt number. My supervisor said "It's probably not a vote for Trump, but we have to get the mail out anyway" (!), and called the complex. He was told that the person would come pick it up (ballot was for another state that does NOT honor postmark, said so right on the envelope). It was cased in with my mail today, with a handwritten apt number. I made sure to deliver it, and double-checked the name in the box. I doubt it will get there on time. I'm doing my best. Most of us are. Even the Trump supporters in the USPS revere the sanctity of the mail in my (admittedly short) experience. For what it's worth, I'm in TN. Just thought I'd add my two cents.

That's what I did, took it straight to the drop-box at the county court house.   NJ also offers online tracking of ballots so voters can see if their ballot was received.  This is mine.

At this point I worry more about them just claiming fraud and trying to get the court to declare him the winner.

Mail-in ballots are a distinctive size and shape so a regular envelope isn't a good match.  My guess is they used certified mail to ensure tracking.

I dropped mine off at the Supervisor of Election's office after calling to confirm they had an outside drop box (it wasn't clear on the website). I also asked how often the ballots are taken out of the box. She said every hour. I doubted it. I said, what if I drop it off on Friday at 7pm when I finally can. "Every hour". 3am Saturday? "Every hour". And it they have 24 hour security.

Pulled up, 7pm Friday, city cop in his car just sitting by the box. I was surprised. 24 hour security = on duty cop 24/7.

Elections wouldn't be stolen in this country at the ballot box, they'll be stolen in the courts.

First: The Republicans didn't pack the Supreme Court, they filled a vacancy, in accordance with the Biden Rule. The Democrats are the ones who want to pack the courts by increasing the number of Justices. FDR tried that, but his own people finally talked him back off of that ledge.

Second, the ones who seem to rely on lawfare to steal elections are the Democrats. They keep trying to get the courts to allow "extra" votes, and to loosen election restrictions. They're the ones who "find" boxes of votes, which they then convince Democrat judges to allow. They even tried really hard in 2000, but were stopped after multiple attempts to steal the election.
