My read on this: Minnesota, Are they that terrified of the Muslim vote?

Narrator: They sure are.

This is why I am anxious about Tuesday. I work the polls in a PA county that is seeing a really unfortunate uptick in cases the last three weeks - much like the rest of the country. And I know that just like the primaries, the majority of the voters who will be voting in person are going to be of the "it's a hoax" variety.

I can handle the guns that PA allows in voting precincts - but I can't ask people to put on a mask if they don't have one on. I can show them that I have masks for them. I can ask if they would consider wearing a mask, I can wear a mask myself, I can disinfect everything I can in the room, but I cannot ask people to put a mask on if they don't want to.

And we have a lot of arseholes in this state.

:(

Slow down there, turbo. Don't conflate the small, vocal contingent of xenophobic f*ckstains with the people that put Omar and Ellison into office.

Is there an actual story on this somewhere? I haven't found it yet.  I'm curious to who's filing this appeal, and how they have any standing, because as far as I know it hasn't been litigated in state court even.

I can almost see this from a legal point of view. It's putting a new, extra burden on people to vote which is what we've been complaining about all week.

That's cool. Then everyone who comes in without a mask should have no problem putting on the one I am giving them for free, yeah?

I can't do that. Every voter deserves an efficient, safe, in-person voting experience, should they choose.

I become remarkably non-political on election day. My role is about the process - not about the result - and I take that role very seriously.

I am just stressing about what that means for me and the other voters, all things considered.

The Minnesota Voters Alliance. It started back in August as a violation of free speech rights based on a 60's-era law that makes wearing disguises while voting illegal, but a federal judge upheld Walz's decision. They appealed.

Just early voted a few hours ago in Gilchrist County Florida, at the court house.

The sheriff's doing security, the assistant secretary of elections that was signing us in and giving us our ballots, no one was wearing masks.

They did have social distancing, large plexiglass dividers, you kept the pen you used to fill out your ballot, and they had hand sanitizer everywhere, but no one working in the building was wearing a mask.

/Republicans are farking morans.

There are no good Republicans.

The Republican party is now a gang of traitors and now their aim is to kill Americans.

They gerrymander districts, attempt to eradicate the ability for people to vote and then deliberately put people in harms way because they are sadistic, evil, psychopathic traitors.  There is not one single real human being amoung them.  To be Republican means to be the worst, most vile creature in creation.

I just finished reading the judge's denial of preliminary injunction that I linked above.  MVA's arguments are...interesting.  The judge found they lacked standing, for a couple reasons, also that their arguments lacked merit regardless of standing.

Gorsuch handles the 8th circuit, correct? I don't see him being swayed by this.

I watched a press conference today from the Mayo Health system in North Western Wisconsin. That area is down so many nurses and staff that Mayo Clinic in Rochester and Arizona are coming in to help. The conference also said that Rochester is very concerned with the spike in cases there. There think it will get Wisconsin levels bad soon. Western Wisconsin is almost full for beds for COVID patients that they are stopping all elective procedures and appointments. If it keeps getting worse Rochester is going to take the excess people. It they keep getting a spike there will be not be enough beds between the Wisconsin and Minnesota border. If someone gets COVID in the area and have to go Rochester, they will at least be getting the best healthcare in the world. So if you want to get deathly sick now, I guess now is the time to do it. Sigh. People are so farking stupid.

They were really cute about it.  "Sure, we admit that masks are helpful, but, well, state law says we can't wear them, so the governor's order actually means we'd have to commit a crime if we wear a mask to vote.  We are very intelligent."

1. Spike in COVID cases makes Democrats, but not Republicans, scared to wait in line on election day, giving the Repubs a healthy lead in early counting
2. The partisans on the Supreme Court stop counting of mail-in ballots because WTF not they cheated in 2000 and got away with it
3. Trump "wins" such a transparently fraudulent election that we either accept that democracy is dead or start putting heads on pikes

I haven't slept all week thinking about this.
