I'd say the swordfish did what it was supposed to do and is a credit to its species. It's not called a bloody spoonfish.

Took my dad out fishing in Hawaii and he caught one. It was one of the most exciting and wonderful experiences of his life.

Scared the crap out of me. They are huge animals, and they do not just flip and flop. They parry and thrust and they WILL KILL YOU. The poker is as a Toledo blade and harder than bone.

The whole experience has a dreamy quality to me.

I've had experiences like that while big game bow hunting and getting into fights. I quite literally felt out of my body and after the adrenaline wore off, my first thought was, "How the fark did I survive that?!" followed by pain and checking to see any blood wasn't mine. I get my kicks less dangerously now.
