Here's the wiki page for the one I posted - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netert_Mudat_Egyptian_Scarab_Map

Apparently, it'd been bopping around collections for over 100 years until someone just recently said, "hey, ya know what? this looks like a *map*!"

Those old HP small network printers were built to last if you took care of them with regular cleaning and maintenance, and you could replace things like the fuser without having to dismantle the whole thing down to the screws. Of course, they cost $1000+ to start.

Heeeeyyy kids.

I am doing some Swedish death cleaning.  Knick-knacks that are just collecting dust are going into a box for the discard--someone will like them, no doubt, but it's time for me to take stock.  We are going to replace our dining set (a cheap set we bought from...JC Penny?  Montgomery Ward? around the time we got married, which has been over 30 years now) with the nicer oak table and chairs from my Dad's house, and replace our bedroom furniture (similarly elderly, mostly unfinished except for the armoire I varnished for the baby's clothes--he's 27 now) with the set from Dad's.

I've gotten some nice cards and emails from various of his friends and coworkers; it's gratifying to know how well-regarded he was, and simultaneously breaking my heart.

Onward and upward.

Pretty sure everyone here has voted, but a note to lurkers who may have not yet. Use a drop box (maybe), drop your ballot off at a voting center, or do the election day thing (where you can walk your ballot in, if you're so inclined). If you mail it as of today, you will likely get postmarked in time, and in a normal law-abiding US, your vote would thus be counted. But we know that won't be the case this time around.

I would personally advocate going to the polls on election day at this point. If there's something wrong with your mail-in ballot, a poll worker will note it right there before you hand it off, and you otherwise avoid having your ballot thrown out. It's too late for ballot curing at this point, so triple check you're ballot was in the correct ink, bubbles filled out correctly, no smudges that might mar the reader, that you put it in the secrecy envelope correctly, and that you got the proper signature(s) on it.

We want every vote counted!

Was there any election review of 2016 to determine how many ballots were thrown out and by which party?

If we ever get to cross the border again, I want to come down to Oregon. Powell Books is on my list of places to go, as well as the Deschutes Brewery - to load up on their Reserve series of beers.
I'd also like to see Crater Lake again, and spend some time in the coastal beach towns like Lincoln City.

It's hunting season here, so I rarely see them anymore. But I do hear them scruffing their hooves on the rock outside when it's dark and quiet.

The big bucks seem to be a lot more active...and brave. Which makes no sense to me.

Powell's is so wonderful.  It's a few blocks from my office (or what was my office at one point before we ended up WFH) and I loved walking up there on my lunch hour to browse.

All that is from just one 6 foot plant and I had 4 plants this year. I can't imagine what California growers are dealing with.
