(Politico)   New Covid cases yesterday hit an all-time high of more than 90,000 cases with 1,000+ deaths. So what is our VP the point man for our pandemic response doing about it? Not much. He hasn't even hopped on a task force conference call in over a month   (politico.com) divider line

Of all the post Trump election loss losers, Pence may be the worst off.  He has to go back to Indiana.

Will they even grant him a residence visa?

It's not like he was doing anything worthwhile on the calls anyway.

Didn't pence basically do the exact same with the AIDS outbreak in his own state?

Pence? Thoughts and prayers. Lots of 'em.

They figure they get to foist it off on the Democrats in a couple months anyway, why should they care?

Seriously, I've never seen an outgoing administration give up so fast.

I seriously want to see this chucklefark on the hot seat between choosing to pardon Trump or keep his political ambitions alive.

THIS, if I was involved in COVID response I'd "forget" to get Pence on the phone too.

Then why is anyone surprised this happened again?

We have double the number of new cases and double the deaths of the next country, India, which had double or triple the third country.

It's so easy to hate on Trump because his obnoxiousness is so loud and over the top it is almost farcical.

Pence, otoh, is equally as evil but much quieter about it.

Their combined non response to c19 amounts to negligent homicide or at least depraved indifference in my mind.

Have a heart. It must be hard work learning how to pronounce the fake name on the Russian passport he bought "just in case," never mind committing the rest of his new identity to memory.

You can't pretend it doesn't exist if you're still having meetings about it, subby.

He really doesn't have any political ambitions anymore. Indiana wouldn't elect him dog catcher at this point.

He'll be fine, tho. He'll get a nice cushy job in a conservative "think"-tank as a reward for his destruction of the US for his monied masters.

I bet the case rate would go down if everyone wrapped themselves in a bubble and locked themselves in their rooms, but that's a terrible way to keep a country going, especially since that country keeps the world going.

Well the Democrats better have Covid-19 fixed by February 2021, or they will get voted out at the 2022 midterms.

This is beyond a disgrace

So what's an acceptable death count to keep this country up and running?

300k?
1m?
3m?

It was also terrible when the leader of that country initially derided the pandemic as a Democratic hoax, and then tried to absolve all responsibility for it. But it is what it is.

Starting now or in March?  Because we're way past 300k being a realistic option.

How about we compromise instead and just get all the toolbag Trumpers to wear a mask for a month or two?

Afraid not.  The media will simply point to whatever Republican leadership remains in the state or federal governments as the new cause of the spread.  Biden will be able to just point to Trump and claim every effect of the pandemic going forward is a result of Trump expressing optimism in February of 2020 and the media will trot out a line of democrat operative "experts" to push that message.

They'll be able to carry that until at least 2022. If social media fails in their efforts to drive public opinion, at some point skepticism will grow.  Perhaps in time for Trump 2024.

Or people could stop being idiots and wear masks and keep 6' distance from one another.

Also, they can wash their hands often.

But such tyranny cannot stand, right?

I'd be okay with 3 million deaths. As long as I don't know any of the people who die.

Come on Fark. Didn't you watch The Ingraham Angle? Donny Jr. says the covid is beat and deaths have dropped to virtually nothing. So who are we to believe? The low IQ kid of an orange idiot with a squirrel on his head or a bunch of doctors and scientists.

Combined with excess deaths, I'd say we are looking at a million dead by the end of the year.  Operation Dark Winter Contingency is now in effect

I'd be OK with 3 million dead as long as they were all Trump voters in 2020.  That includes many of my friends and family.
