In America? The cops will beat the volunteers and steal the pizza.

The end of last night's Daily Show mentioned something similar with food trucks more generally. Anyone remember the link?

Worse.  The cops make everyone eat pineapple on their pizza.

We really don't need to be having the pizza topping argument in this thread.  This is a creative approach to getting out the vote, keeping out the vote.  Getting hungry after hours in line, especially if you have children with you, I bet is a significant demotivator for people who are already out trying to vote.

It's sad that we need to organize like this to combat voter suppression.

New York style is amazing so you can take a couple of breadsticks, stuff them in your pizza pie hole, and chew with it closed.

Stop arguing pizza and start donating pizza. I did.

There are toppings far worse than pineapple for a pizza.

For example, candy corn.

Go on, imagine that unwholesome candy corn flavor melting into cheese, tomato sauce and bread. Imagine masticating the various textures of the pizza and candy corn. The flavors mixing unholy alchemy.

/And that's how I made pizza toppings into a horrifying short Halloween story. Thanks for the inspiration Fark.

I don't know about last night's thread, but vote.org has food trucks that feed people in line to vote as part of their operation. I gave them some cash the other night.

The Irresponsible Captain: It's sad that we need to organize like this to combat voter suppression.

Hold their feet to the fire after they take office. Make them know that eliminating voter suppression, making fair district maps, unfurling the census and judiciary are imperative. I personally want to see us set up treaties with harsh economic sanctions to allow UN elections officials into our next several elections.

Somebody brought chocolate chip cookies to the polling line in Rochester yesterday.  It wasn't too bad, couldn't have been more than a 15 minute wait (Democratic run state).

/thanks to fark, I found out I voted for Hillary
//thanks fark, I don't know any other place I'd learn that
///any guesses the electoral college will still be around in 2100?

Someone told me that gifting food or drinks to people standing in line is technically not legal because it's viewed as offering goods/services for voting, and that famous people are just able to get away with it. This doesn't sound right to me; it's not like you're buying a vote, just supporting someone's right to do so. Anyone know if there are any rules about this sort of thing?

Damn my state's proffered mail in ballot.

We had a choice of free BBQ, sandwiches, and lots of other stuff. We hit the time after the first day of early voting and we were lucky enough to get in line and be done in about 15 minutes.  For two days I wondered about going back just for the free food.

The venue was an NBA arena with resources to handle thousands.

Hope everyone has a good experience voting and sees the care that the elections officers take in making it all happen.

My mother takes cookies to the local polling place (not this year, though).  I bought her a tube of professional grade purple food coloring paste and a cookie cutter shaped like the 48 contiguous states.  I said that if anyone asks where Alaska and Hawaii were, to say that they were beyond the edge of the plate and kept falling on the floor.

Agree with the first Farker.

Counter counterpoint: Crushed pineapple and Canadian back bacon on pizza is yum.

Where were these pizza guys when I was waiting in line to vote? I had to wait for the car in front of me to put their ballots in the drop box before I could. It was like a 30 second wait because the lady in the car in front of me couldn't seem to figure out how to put the envelope in the drop slot. I could have starved.

"Pizza to the Polls is fueling democracy-one slice at a time"

How many pizzas get delivered one slice at a time? Jesus, lady, it's time to breathe again. Now breathe out. Breath in, breath out, when one is done go do the other.
