If you have voted, thank you.  However I would ask that you find two people that have not voted and get them to go vote.  Bribe them with lunch, beer, whatever....just get them to the polls.

If you have not voted....get your ass out there and do it.  Even if you think there's going to be a hassle with your registration, provisional ballots while things get sorted out can be done.  Your vote matters.

Surprised Abrams had support from any voters in Florida, what with being on the ballot in Georgia and all.

NPR, if they were worth a shiat and actually wanted donations during this crisis, would be running editorial pieces the past year alone on how we need to vote Trump out of office, not still treating this bullshiat like it's a curiosity.

With 134 toss ups the GOP can't possibly win all of.

This is only a horse race in that one party is trying to cheat by hobbling the Dem horse.

The thing that really bothers me is that Trump has any reasonable chance. The map should be so blue you'd think a supernova was racing towards us at warp 10.

If they hadn't, this world be submitted with a headline about the polls saying Clinton had it in the bag.

The media always has to turn even obvious incoming landslide victories into a horse race. Remember how they kept pushing the "close race" narrative in 2016 even though everyone could see that Hillary was a lock for the win.

2020-10-30 11:37:08 AM
From what I've seen of the polls, Trump still has around a 15% chance of winning a fair election.

Trump's odds are probably better than that considering that the GOP cares more about winning than democracy.

I remember in 2016 NPR had a running morning bit that was basically "Let's see what a Trump supporter has to say!" And they let these random supporters defend Trump and attack Clinton with zero fact checking.

"I think Clinton is untrustworthy, but I can't specifically state why!"
"Oh, I don't think Trump is going to do all those radical things he proposes during his campaign, he's going to dial it back!"
"EMAILS!"
"Trump tells it like it is!"

Feck.

One thing that polls don't capture well is who ACTUALLY votes.

You can get a good sample of a population that accurately says that "X% of the population favors candidate A, and Y% of the population favors candidate B", but polls do a poor job of figuring out who is actually going to go and vote.

If 50% of the people who favor candidate A but 58% of the people who favor candidate B end up voting then people look back at the polls about how they were wrong... but this isn't what the polls were measuring. Actual voter turnout is different this year (by a lot) and that is probably going to make the polls wrong a few percentage points in one direction or the other. High turnout typically favors Democrats, but no matter who you support you should probably actually vote...

For me it's more about if we avoid chaos. FL is going to be stolen no matter how the vote goes. PA will likely vote Biden but they don't start counting mail-in votes until election day and the GOP will do everything they can to tie them up. But North Carolina already started counting. Georgia processes but doesn't count ballots until election day. So both of those could report a lot earlier. If NC goes for Biden then he doesn't need PA and the election is practically over already. If GA goes for Biden it could mean a landslide, which would be very helpful in the denazification efforts that have to come next.

Clench your asscheeks on Tuesday night, folks. Cuz that's when the Russians are gonna make their big move. Trump's been screeching so much about demanding that the deadline for counting ballots ends at Midnight, so I'm expecting to see voting machines in a lot of blah people districts to suddenly mysteriously all crash at the same time from coast to coast (hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm................).

I pray that election officials have at least made SOME improvements in security since the 2016 f*ckery occured.

It says that there is still a possibility that Trump could win. Only morons ignore that when reporting, especially after 2016. Do you support morons in journalism or something? Because only a fellow moron would do that.
