The buyer takes bitcoin--that's less than 70BTC. Someone must have 70BTC sitting on a hard drive somewhere from their mining experiments in 2010.

They might find a buyer in Peru or Colombia...

I really really really regret not dicking around with that when BTC was still around 40-60 a coin. Back in the early Silk Road days.

That's not for real, right?

Wow...

48,000 tons displacement. That's a big boy.

For comparison, the big American subs are Ohio class at 18,000 tons. They're about the same length, but the Typhoon is built like two subs side-by-side.

Hold on, do you mind if I get an expert to check this out?  Also the market for these is pretty limited and if it's not operational then the value goes down. Best I can do is $50

How much coal does it take to run per hour?

Also, what is the mean time between fires?

Are the screen doors in good condition?

If it comes with the cruise missiles, that's a pretty good deal.

It has two reactors.  I bet ONE of them is still serviceable.

Fawwwwk that. I worked on subs in the Navy and got to tour some Soviet ones....it's amazing more aren't lost at sea.

Now if you offered me a German WW2 sub, I'd be down with that.

I wonder how much of a cavity search you'd receive on a weekly basis by the government and military if you bought this to use as a personal watercraft.

Vessel is partially operational with 2x OK-650 pressurized water reactors which require de fueling...

So buy their highly radioactive waste. No thanks.

Good luck finding a trailer to haul it. That is always the catch with these big boats.

Well done, guys. She may not be the youngest girl at the ball... but she'll turn a head or two. If she drives as well as she looks, we may even survive!

A Typhoon-class nuke sub for $945k? The transport costs alone will come to more than the purchase price. And as for getting that thing to the US? Good luck with getting the EPA and DOE permits (and expect the US Navy to be really interested in getting a *really* good look at it, even in its current condition).

In other words, this business will get out of control. It will get out of control and we'll be lucky to live through it.

Do the Chinese subs that routinely tail our carriers in the Pacific chat with our ships?

Russia also auctioned off some nuclear powered ice breakers years ago.

1) Are private citizens allowed to own nuclear reactors in the USA?

2) Are there any US ports that would allow these ships to dock if you bought one?

Those are not unidentified.

We know who they belong to.

An unflagged vessel, sub or otherwise, is legally a pirate vessel and can be attacked by any nation.

Yeah, gonna need a citation on that. Subs fly flags underwater? We know automatically what underwater contact belongs to who? How?

We might know what kind of submarine it is based on its sound profile, but that means diddly squat in cases where there are classes of submarines operated by multiple navies around the world. If you operated that submarine, the Navy would think it's the one Typhoon in service that belongs to Russia. Because it's a Typhoon.
