Iowa's polling locations are closing faster than Dump's wallet when the church collection plate is passed. COVID cases cropping up everywhere, especially in larger metro areas where Ds hold a majority.

Coincidence, or deliberate ploy?

Ohio has a GIGANTIC black population... If they actually vote and have them counted it's a pretty big voting bloc.

How else would I know when Matt Drudge is pounding his trouser midget like one of these into a bowl of mashed potatoes?

A reminder:  who among us answers a phone call with the identification from out of state, etc.  If you answer those calls you are being asked to renew a warranty on a car you sold 10 years ago, you are being threatened that you are committing social security fraud, you are being offered to attend a sales promotion to buy a timeshare or for someone to buy your timeshare, etc.

The people who answer polling calls are cat ladies and/or really lonely people desperate to talk to someone or haven't figured out or are using caller id.

Translation:  polls are as useful as teats on a mule.

I've seen multiple other polls showing both Trump and Ernst down by 2 in Iowa.

Curious what the +/- of this poll is.

I think he actually secured the patent for a system of writing in which all words are capitalized and underscored.  This is the reason I do not do the same on this website.  I do not want to pay Matt Drudge royalties.

Might as well just wait for the real one and see how that clusterfark turns out.

Yeah good luck getting everybody to vote in Ohio's largest county with barely any polling locations and a single drop-off box.

I'd honestly written off Ohio as it's been trending red the last few cycles, and it's not like Biden wouldn't have to take a dive in a lot of other states to fail to lose. That said, I'd love to see him win there as well and surpass 350 votes just to hear Trump rail about how unfair the whole thing has been to him.

2020-10-29 3:10:34 PM
That poll is an outlier. Trump is taking Ohio. Bet the buckeyes on it.

? A majority of the support in PA, which is supposed to be the biggest state this election. leading in both Florida and Ohio, 2 toss up states worth 47 EC votes that are needed by Trump and would be cherry/whip cream/nuts on top of Biden's sundae.  But down in Iowa and it's 6 EC votes is bad for Biden?

Ohio might go blue but Georgia will go red and accidentally burn the ballots and erase the computers before anyone can do anything.

The last time I met someone who met the textbook definition of a slackjaw yokel was at a Subway in rural Ohio. I asked for pepperoncini on my sandwich only to be met with a blank stare and an awkward silence until eventually they blurted out "do you mean BANANA PEPPERS?" with a genuine hillbilly drawl. I generally try not to laugh in the face of people making my food but I simply couldn't help myself.

I have more faith in GA going blue than places like Texas, Iowa, Ohio because they were screwed over 2 years ago. The voters and opposition have already seen the shady shiat and had 2 years to prepare for it again. Not to mention once something gets stolen right in front of your face you are more likely to not let it happen again. Or as they say:

Fool me once, shame on...shame on you, fool me, won't get fooled again

Des Moines, Iowa City, actually the eastern part of the state has some decent sized cities.

Its just that western part is a red state hellscape that will never vote blue

I hate to break it to you, but you were wrong. There is a difference between pepperoncini and banana peppers and Subway only offers banana peppers.

i have the same reaction to out-of-state calls, but i unfortunately have to answer every single farking one.  why?  am i a masochist?  my elderly mom has LifeAlert(tm) and falls or needs the paramedics, and every single farking time they call it is a random number from a random state.  Maine, Vermont, Florida, wherever... it seems like they outsource all their business to random freelancers cell phones.  they've never used the same number twice so it's impossible to add them to any "trusted" list.

/end rant

It's only been a few presidential cycles since we considered Ohio a bellwether state, a swing state to fight for,  I hate how we've just given up on multiple states like that one with a blanket "they're racist" statement.

Go after those states the same way Obama did:  fight for things that the working class values.  Black and white members of the working class want a lot of the same things. And frankly, black people often answer polling questions in such a way that we'd call *them* racist if they were white. (Did you know that over half of black people were in favor of bringing the National Guard in to help quell rioting?)

We've got to become a party that demonstrably fights for the working class again.  We need those votes in MI and WI, and if we have a strong enough appeal, we'll bring states like Ohio back into play.

Iowa is like Ohio - lots of moderate sized cities. While the west side has Council Bluffs and Sioux City the eastern side has Cedar Rapids, Dubuque, and the Quad Cities/Davenport.
