Huh, Geely made a voluntary recall.  When Volvo was owned by Ford, Ford would have claimed the cars were operating normally and they couldn't reproduce the issue.

It's a great car. I'm not a fan of the look in the slightest, but I'd buy one. I'm so desperate for good EVs here in Japan. You can get a Model 3, but it's about 30% more expensive than the American version at every trim level.

The government and Honda are finally coming around, but they were still talking about hydrogen as late as last year. Silly geese.

Faulty inverters?

Are we talking "car shuts off" faulty or "shorts out battery with big lithium fire" faulty?

I kinda like the look.  It isn't covered with bolt-on or stick-on plastic crap like most automakers have used to make their electrics look different than conventional cars.

I like the Tesla Model S for much the same reason, the styling is interesting without all that extra crap on the car.

High power electric motors need inverters, especially directly powering the motor.  So "shorts out the motor with a big fire spreading to the battery" sounds like a strong possibility.
