We all need to remember this in '22 and '24, when the GOP begs us to take it back. Republicans do not represent a majority of Americans. They can only win by cheating.

What's sad is that close to 50% of people endorse such a horrible human being as Dear Leader

No... 35-40% of the people endorse him.  It just amounts to closer to 50% of EC votes.

"What we have seen this year which is completely unprecedented ... is a concerted national Republican effort across the country in every one of the states that has had a legal battle to make it harder for citizens to vote," said Trevor Potter, a former chair of the Federal Election Commission who served as general counsel to Republican John McCain's two presidential campaigns. "There just has been this unrelenting Republican attack on making it easier to vote."

Potter, who now heads the nonpartisan Campaign Legal Center, added, "It puzzles me ... I've never worked for a Republican candidate who thought it was a good idea to make it hard for people to vote."

It's true.

They all thought it was a great idea.

It's still too damn high.

It's okay Don, mushrooms come in all different sizes, and you should learn to enjoy the body you have. The important thing is to listen and be a conscientious lover, and remember that "sex" can mean more than....

Oops, my bad. That's not what I thought at all.

This .. And we really need to get a national effort to get rid of the EC ..

Hey, losers gonna loser.

trump* only hastened the revelation that the GOP is in the minority by a long margin. In order to gain traction, they would have to shed the racists and those nostalgic for days gone and marginalized populations and genders were ignored except when useful.

The fact that his approval rating ever approached 40%, much less stayed there, is baffling, but that's who answers their phone, I guess.

The fact that it's double digits is a damning indictment of our society.

Considerably higher than that.  It's been ~43% since Day 1 and has barely budged.  And that 43% has higher electoral power, suffers no voter suppression and will crawl over broken glass to vote for him.

Unprecedented?

In scope, yes.

As some of us have been saying for a while now.

But beyond that GOP voter suppression is a time honored tactic that can be traced back to Jim Crow.

The GOP have turned US elections into a shiatshow the rest of the civilized world looks upon with disgust.

Which is why they refuse to let international observers in to validate the elections integrity, btw.

In the largely unspoken Democratic Party narrative that only exists as personal head canon at present this fact ie "the GOP hate democracy and work to cheat every electoral cycle" is a staple bit of lore that must never stop being emphasized.

Still too high. Americans really need to stop fixating on whether something is over or under 50%. It's not a magic number. A society composed of 20% Nazis is still an extremely sick society.

It's his biggest problem. Biden has for months been consistently polling at 50-52%. Trump can't just close the gap, he's got to somehow take support away from Biden. In a week. After losing two debates and ratings in dueling town halls.
It's not impossible, but if it happens I'll be waiting by my phone for that call from Scarlett Johansson for a date.

The Catch-22 is that the GOP will not moderate or move back to the center from the far right fringe until it's FORCED to compete for centrist votes being unable to rely on it's base alone.

ABC must have a lot of sway over which polls drop into the equation and that make it closer than it properly is.
For instance, they drop AtlasIntel poll an hour ago, bumping Trumps average up. I've never heard of AtlasIntel. Why all of a sudden use them with their LV poll like Rasmussen uses. Why now?

I feel like all these efforts will wind up backfiring on him bigly, as it seems to only be firing up everyone who wants to vote him out even more. Every time they roll out another voter suppression scheme, it seems like it just gets people more outraged and it drives turnout more. I don't think you'd have seen nearly as much early voting had they tried the be more subtle with the suppression.

I'd really like to know if that crawling over broken glass bit is true. They've never had to suffer voter suppression like we do. Since they're all waiting till election day to vote, I guess we'll see how long they're willing to wait in line. I know that won't matter for Sisterfark, Alabama pop. 602, but there's still people in blue districts that want to vote Republican. So those blue districts will end up being artificially bluer I imagine.

Well, when you pass by the guy who's putting up the wood frame for the second 6x8 VOTE TRUMP sign on his yard while tripping on the dozens of other TRUMP signs covering his yard you figure he's going to be there.

/So will the guy with multiple TRUMP signs flying a Blue Lives Matter flag over a POW-MIA flag with the Stars and Bars rather than the US flag.  American flag conspicuously absent
//And I live on the top side of the Mason-Dixon line.
