Seaborn '24!

In the episode Bartlet tells Sam he will run for president one day. Following that plot line, it could make for a decent WW reboot, whether Sam wins or loses, or limited series.

I think West Wing style thinking has already farked us up through one Dem administration, let's not repeat it.

HBO Max is currently only supported in the US and certain US territories.

Leaving Democrats Abroad and Republicans Overseas out of luck.

Yeah, let's perpetuate that hallmark Sorkinian myth that your political rivals and mouthy women can be out-speeched into submission!

Holy cow, did you really say "mouthy women"?  Someone should take a dust-buster to you.

Misogyny of the above poster aside, WW does feel completely removed from the reality of today. The thought of anything productive being accomplished with bipartisan support is just not believable, no matter how good the speechwriter.

Their mouth is the best part. I don't have to get all sweaty

It's has always been mastabatory fantasyland but I still enjoy it and the people in it. There are some good get out the vote bits in between scenes though my wife mentioned that most of the people that should see it would never watch.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan, I'm just having trouble accepting the premise here in 2020.

Why, it's as if I'm referring specifically to how women are written by a certain self-absorbed cokehead as halfwit harpies who can be finessed into becoming kittens with the right patronizing tone!

And we haven't gotten into how Sorkin writes for non-white characters.

So we want a president with a crackhead behind the scenes pulling the strings?  Why do you think he could only talk while pacing the halls.

A couple of years ago, I saw the Aaron Sorkin production of To Kill a Mockingbird. I can understand the issues Harper Lee might have had with the adaptation, but it was still stonking spectacular. Bill Pullman was on par with Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch.

Also, what deal with the devil has Rob Lowe made? Other than a little increase in waistline, it looks like he hasn't aged since The West Wing.

Indeed.  I would like a way to watch this on my teevee and not my peecee.

You'll enjoy this "tribute" to his style:

I still enjoy WW and his film screenplays, but The Newsroom was more or less what you've described.

I had the exact same thought while watching.

I'd see this episode years ago, probably more than once, and I was surprised at how much I still enjoyed this.  Yes it's a fantasy, and the cars in Fast & Furious defy physics.
