Ok, that is NOT a real thing

All it actually is is a storm system stirring up a farkton of pollen and taking it along for a ride. Pay attention to your weather forecast and pollen alerts if you have said allergies and stay inside. And make sure to take your 24 hour allergy pills to make life better.

Mind you, stay inside should just be mandatory lifesaving advice in Aussie lands anyways.

You can make it through thunderstorm asthma, as long as you have a snake to chew on.

Yikes!  I have pretty rough asthma, but storms around here knock the pollen down so it's easier for me to breathe.  I love thunderstorm season because I can leave off a bunch of meds for about a month.  I've read about mud pneumonia during the Dust Bowl, but thunderstorm asthma sounds much worse.

Around here we have several different seasons. Right now its firewood season, time to get ready for snow season. Which is followed by mud season and springtime. Early summer everything turns yellow because pine trees pollinate. Thats followed by monsoon season, the thunderstorms wash away all the yellow crap and make breathing easier. Late summer is lake season, time to go fish and have fun. Which brings us back to firewood season...

When I got tested for allergies my allergist gave me an 11++ out of 10 for grass allergies and said he's never seen anything like it in all his years of practice. Basically the grass test took over the whole area.  Guess I won't be going to Australia.
