No one should give a shiat about what the police think about police reform the same way criminals don't get a vote on criminal reform.

Other legislation headed to the governor's desk includes bills to demilitarize police departments by prohibiting the acquisition of certain weapons and military equipment, ban sexual relations between officers and arrestees, and authorize the state attorney general to conduct "pattern or practice" investigations of police departments that appear to be violating constitutional rights.

Looks like I'm gonna start getting speeding tickets.

Seriously, this was perfectly legal?

Props to Virginia.  Lots of cities and states that seem to have the numbers, politically, still haven't shown the will to do much of anything.

Scorpitron is reduced to a thin red paste: No one should give a shiat about what the police think about police reform the same way criminals don't get a vote on criminal reform.

I came here to say this.  What's next? Are we going to ask them pedophiles about changing the age of consent?

The budget also includes a $500 bonus for Virginia's police officers to be paid out in December. State employees could get a $1,500 bonus next year, but only if there's enough revenue. Lawmakers are also directing Northam to include a raise for teachers in next year's budget, if budget projections meet a certain level.

So, free money for police officers. But maybe possibly free money for teachers if the budget allows it. What a country.

More that it wasn't expressly illegal. Could be considered rape or another crime, but then you're trying to convince a jury it was in fact rape. Now they don't have to deal with that work and merely have to prove sex happened.

There's a few more on the corridor that need to be taken down, but I doubt we'll be fortunate enough to have legit enough reasons to eminent domain them all away like this one

Oh no! Now cops get treated like citizens! What a great miscarriage of justice for lawless ass holes who abuse the law.

As a Virginian I will take what I can get.

I'd like a lot more, I won't lie to you, but the reality is this.

I'm surprised we got this much and that should make anybody sad.

Is that a positive reform or a negative "reform"?
Such an easy word to mean whatever you want it to
