(KIRO-7 Seattle)   Woodinville neighbors fight City Hall to keep 'Yoda Grove' park, fearing that the city will reduce it to a six-foot strip of grass. And as we all know, fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, and hate leads to City Hall   (kiro7.com) divider line

There is sufficient room in the universe for a Yoda / Doobie Brothers crossover song to exist

I have no problem with reducing park space to increase wetland space.

No need to fight city hall. Now that Disney's lawyers have heard about it, expect your C&D within the week

If they're worried about the native plants they're being told to plant getting overwhelmed by blackberries, I would suggest the community invest in a goat. They very much prefer new blackberry shoots to the woodier snowberry, vine maple, and sword ferns that they would be putting in.

"It was a staging ground for criminal activity," says Murphy. "Some of the adjacent - almost all of them had burglaries or break-ins. So it was very bad. Not a compliment to the community."

Woodinville? Criminal activity? Who could afford to be a criminal in Woodenville?

Woodinville is a strange little town. Basically members of the city council take turns being the mayor. Some twenty years ago a guy who worked in the same office as me got to be the mayor for a couple years. Its not the sort of gig that will let you quit your day job. Don't even get me started on the town of Grace on its northern border.

When I lived in Woodinville I tried contacting the cops twice, once when my car got hit and rubbed and once when my wife's purse got stolen.  As far as I can tell the city hall building is permanently closed and the cop car out front is a prop.  This was all pre-covid.

Get that $50 Woodinville wine pass and you can get buzzed every Saturday for a year though, so they have that going on.

Used to delivery Pizza (Garlic Jim's) in Woodinville. Was a pretty cool place to drive around, lots of winding roads surrounded by trees. Small little downtown, and of course the wineries and whatnot. CSB / There was always this one guy way on the outskirts of our route that lived in his Mom's basement. He was an older guy who looked a lot like the computer nerd/basement dweller meme's and he would always order the same thing and usually would come out in his undies and a robe. I always had to walk into the garage and yell for him.
