(MetalSucks)   Dragonforce guitarist Herman Li banned from Twitch, possibly for using his own music on the site. To be fair, most sites will probably ban you if you use Dragonforce's music   (metalsucks.net) divider line

it is beyond comprehension that in this day and age, the band hasn't been "cancelled" for its members previous views and lyrics

They've been friends through eternity, loyalty, honesty.  I have a feeling that they'll stay together, through thick or thin.

I've never understood what the rules are supposed to be on twitch regarding music.

Some people, with admittedly smaller communities (100-150 people viewing at any given time), i know play music literally every second they're streaming.  No one seems to care.

Some people say that you can stream just fine with copyrighted music but twitch will just mute the VOD.  Other people say that Twitch will issue a copyright strike and ban you from the platform.

I don't understand why some people can do it and some can't.  Is it just the unfortunate position of being high profile that catches twitch's attention or am I missing something?

In an interview, Li said he'd be willing to go "Through the Fire and Flames" to get back on Twitch.

I'd rather listen to Dragon Sound than Dragonforce's guitar wank:

Dragonforce sounds like it should be the name of one of those boner pill supplements they're constantly pushing on alt-right conspiracy podcasts.

recording industry vampire's robo-crawlers couldn't previously search VODs or some such.  They found a way and sent out such a tsunami of DMCA takedowns it practically swamped Twitch staff.  I think he's a bit overly generous in being understanding, but here is a guy who gives a decent explanation.  Disclosure, he signed a deal with Twitch 3 weeks ago to do all his live streams on Twitch, so that may explain why he's so understanding to them, although he did delete years of content off Twitch in protest.

If he were suspended for DMCA, he would know (Twitch would tell him). He knows what the reason is and has chosen not to clarify.

You'd think. But no. Streamers are just being told they were issued a takedown and to start deleting vods or be banned. Another steamer finally guessed that his was for Red Bull music. (He's sponsored by Red Bull but riaa scrapers don't care.)

I'm a former Twitch employee and I asked around. In this case he knows the reason.

Not defending or attacking Twitch's DMCA policy in any way. Just sharing that he has sensationalized it a bit.

Dragonforce is ok live again because Herman is off the sauce.

My autocorrect made that say Dragonlance and then Dragonfly that was really weird.

To be honest, all I knew about Dragonforce really is that they were one of the worst examples of metal fans thinking playing fast equals musical genius.

But then I looked into it, and...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demoniac

Holy shiat.  And they use the lame "we're just being edgy and ironic" excuse.

Not that I needed another reason to hate that shiatty band though

Guess you're making a huge assumption that people 1) know this band very well and 2) have any clue about what you're talking about and 3) that if we didn't were interested enough to google it

99.99% of the readers on this site in no way financially or otherwise provide any benefit to the members of this band. So, we literally have to do nothing whatsoever to ensure that your concerns are being met.

LOL, I listen to a ton of music and I haven't bothered to even learn the names of band members for probably 20 years, much less any personal facts or background info. That's teenage fanboi bullshiat, just like posters on your wall. My only knowledge of Dragonforce is that their music sucks.
