Just be smart about it.

Put on respirator.
Go to dollar store as soon as it opens.
Buy a shiatton of candy you like, and some you don't.
Go home.
Dump it in a bucket.

Sit on the couch and watch tv, and pig out.

I may get more creative with the candy but as of now, I'm going to sit outside and place snack-bagged candy on a table and get socially distanced away from the table while any kids come up.  I'm still thinking about the PVC thing but I would like to put hand sanitizer and wipes and shiat around the area/table/whatever.  I'm still thinking about the post thing - that looks like a good idea and I have a bunch of dowel rods I can hammer into the yard.

We're going to have plenty of neighbors who are, "If they want candy, they can get it normally" in some kind of protest.  Fark them.  I'm telling my son to only hit the people being responsible - but I don't think he will even do that.  He just wants to roam the streets in his inflatable costume with his friends (of responsible parents) who are all wearing inflatable costumes.  He's not a huge halloween candy eater.

Treat bags packed on 10/15, on a table 6' from my door.
