yukichigai: Okay, why is Nevada a key battleground state? We're a swing state, yeah, but we have all of 6 electoral votes.

Just as I felt a bit subversive dropping my ballot off (three blocks away, in my cobalt blue county), everything is up for grabs this year. Trump flew to Nebraska today to try to get one electoral vote.

We don't know what reality we're in right now. Perhaps we are but a dream in Buddha's sleep.

fragMasterFlash: Yeah, I thought most states simply declared a postmark deadline and then counted ballots until an unsurpassable winning margin was achieved? That way tight races don't get called too soon and no one can sneak in extra ballots without committing postal fraud.

Uh, no. They count all the ballots each time.

The buzzfeed article is not correct. There are special rules for accepting ballots from military personnel posted overseas.

To begin with, Alabama allows for ballots to be accepted from military personnel up to 7 days after the election day.

My vote has already been counted. Unfortunately, I'm in a deep blue non-swing state so it rally won't make much of a difference thanks to the electoral college.

Not true, we also need to run up the popular vote score.

NeoCortex42: Ignore the list. Just assume that due to GOP court shenanigans it won't be accepted after election day. Get off your ass and vote as soon as you can.

Or before Election Day.

States do have a cutoff date regardless of postmark. Otherwise election counting could potentially extend indefinitely.
