I guess he got a tip from Rudy 9/11 about picking up dates at a family reunion.

I love the Costanzaesque was that wrong, because when I became a doctor I really didn't know I was supposed to discriminate against some people.  When the most significant bill a legislator introduced is the "Don't Say Gay" bill and that was in 2012 maybe its time to hang it up.  And sadly the only way he doesn't get re-elected is if his family is mad at him for banging his second cousin.

Didn't Tennessee also reelect someone who forced his wife and/or mistress into getting an abortion?
Then ran on family values and anti abortion?

Scott DesJarlais.  That came out in 2012, he's been reelected four times since then with a 30-40 point margin every time.

It's Tennessee.

No matter what happens, he lived the ultimate hayseed dream. Made something of himself, but came back to the small town. The reward was all opioid fueled cousin sex he could handle.

Mad because he strayed too far outside the family tree and should have drawn the line at 1st cousin?

It is extremely common for doctors to prescribe for family members. My dad has written prescriptions for me and my kids on numerous occasions. Never for scheduled substances though. Anti-biotics / Z-packs and antifungals.

Every state is a third world shiathole if you're brave enough. TN and AR are absolutely beautiful, as is MS Delta, if you're not into the whole mountain thing. Dumbasses everywhere, but doesn't affect the scenery. Or the food. Or the music. More cool people than you would be led to believe.

So, is it a second cousin in the family tree or the second cousin he's nailed?

2020-10-27 1:20:06 PM

madgonad: It is extremely common for doctors to prescribe for family members. My dad has written prescriptions for me and my kids on numerous occasions. Never for scheduled substances though. Anti-biotics / Z-packs and antifungals.

And that's basically his defense: "I was the town doctor so everyone in town got their prescriptions from me, no big deal."

Except...
Hensley didn't require the nurse undergo drug tests to prevent abuse and did not properly document most prescriptions in her medical records, the investigator said.

"Some of them might have had an office note, but it did not reflect that hydrocodone was given that day," said investigator Brandi Blair. "But a majority of them just didn't have any type of documentation whatsoever."

Having that on top prescribing opioids to his direct subordinate, who was sleeping with him, and also happened to be related to him?

Absolutely a problem.

2020-10-27 1:22:33 PM
You know, I can get that in a small town with one doctor this can be there may not be a ton of choice in some circumstances. If a person is in severe pain, do you make them take a half hour car ride (if they can find someone to drive them) to get a prescription?

But not properly documenting the prescriptions in the patient's files says far more about the person's actions.

Also, if it is chronic back pain, it kind of throws the urgency excuse out the window.

The problem with living in California is that it has been populated by settlers like the Donner Party.  Now, I'm hungry.

I can give him a pass for boinking his second cousin. They could marry in all 50 states.

Boinking someone who works for him -- that's beyond the pale.

If
anything, oxycontin's high profile ruined a near century of the rural South's quietly stabilized dilaudid economy.  You used to be able to see a rural southern doctor and walk out with a script for a years' worth of 8mg dilaudid for Pa's swollen stomach. It's gotta be the Big C.

If you want to live, get as close to the Mayo Clinic as you can.  If you want to die with dignity, few physicians will treat you as well as an old doctor from the rural South.  There's room for both in the world of medicine, but corporate greed is phasing out the latter.
