(CNBC)   Restaurant Brands International probably wishes they could shut down every Burger King and Tim Horton's and replace them all with Popeye's   (cnbc.com) divider line

Their donuts aren't TRASH.  They're just acceptable.  Only acceptable.  Like a McDonald's burger.  We all know it isn't a good burger, but it isn't meant to be.  It's meant to be an acceptable burger widely available at a low cost.

Dunkin is the McDonalds of baked goods.

WHAT IS THIS YANKEE MADNESS?!?!

Can we all agree to just destroy Dunkin Donuts, then we can have Krispy Kreme and Timmy's join forces to fill the void?

Nothing of value will be lost.

If Burger King wants to make some money during the pandemic, they should put all their stores on 24 hour operation the way McDonalds did. I switched to night shift specifically to avoid people, and McD's is the only place open after 2AM.

No, I'm sorry, their donuts ARE trash.  At best - mediocre.  I know it's some kind of New England point of pride to stick up for DD.  But fact is their donuts are barely edible.  Years ago it was actually pretty decent.  Nowadays? I suspect their their apple or jelly fillings, are concocted in some laboratory - it's some kind of bizarre artificial taste.  It ain't even the McDonalds of Donuts.  McDonalds is pretty much the same burger they've served decades ago due to their obsession on consistency.  Most people will agree DD is declining.

The other poster mentioning that one might as well get donuts from the grocery store bake section is absolutely correct.

Burger King is essentially a "zombie" franchise now. Nobody cares. They have nothing interesting on their menu, and their food isn't as good as the other burger places. Not really.

I expect them to nearly disappear in the next decade. The only 2 "big" burger places that will survive are Wendy's and McDonald's. There isn't room for any other big players in that market.

Bud, the only reason ya go there is ya hates coffee & needs to go 'double double' to tolerate it.
This second sentence is my usual rant aboot their donuts tastin' like crap cuz they use factory-produced products instead of bakin' them from scratch in house.
This third sentence is reserved for sumpin' aboot flatulence cuz I'm a busted record that way.

All Donuts are the same. The only thing that determines Donut quality is freshness. Fresh Donut from Anywhere > Not-fresh Donut from Anywhere.

Also, I need a Popeye's near me.

I wanted to agree, but after years of McDonald's, Wendy's, Whataburger, and a few others, I had a Whopper last week and it was a thing of beauty. Nobody can touch it, except maybe the Hardee's/Carl's thickburgers at twice the price.

I think it had been almost 20 years since my last Whopper, seriously. I just forgot BK existed.

BK's sandwiches are great. It's their fries that are garbage. They just sort of gave up and stopped trying. They should just give up and serve their little breakfast hashbrowns as their main side.

Nobody ever got into a fight over a Burger King sandwich.
