Did she send the check back?

$3,600 does seem a little low.

That said, I know nothing about the show business sausage factory.  The regular rate could be two dead squirrels and a jello shot, with a three squirrel production being extra-lucrative.

"We were concerned," Jones said. "We were up there praying for her and asking God to help her and we were doing what we thought was the Christian thing to do."

so instead of alerting the authorities about your concerns you did nothing.  no surprise 'the christian thing to do' was not moral at all.

I cant believe this type of people really exist in the real world still in 2020. Its like 50% of americans are living in the middle-ages.

The scary part is that they vote. Part of why I vote D despite living in the deep red hell that is Oklahoma is to cancel out the votes of people like this.
It's the equivalent of throwing an egg at a brick wall, thinking it'll knock it down: it doesn't make much of an impact but I feel better for trying.

Remind me again, which political affiliation was standing in front of the school house doors?

So she really thought this teenager was getting sold into marriage against her will and took money to help her and didn't go to authorities and that was okay because Jesus.  But none of that was true so give her more money?

Go find someone flying a rebel flag & ask them which political party they voted for, you'll find that things have changed in the last several decades.

Of course, you knew that but admitting it wouldn't let you climb up on that high horse of yours.

I hate to break it to you but the electoral college means your vote doesn't cancel anything out.  It gets drowned out by all the other red in your state.  Supposedly the electoral college exists so that the larger states like California don't have undue influence over the election, but what it really means is that votes in swing states are far more important.  A vote in Ohio means more than a vote in California.

You and your church prayed for the well being of a 15 year old girl, and your all powerful sky daddy turned back time and replaced that 15 year old girl with a 26 year old woman who was no longer in danger.

Why are you angry? Your loving, omnipotent god answered your prayers with a bona fide miracle.

So you're voting D in Oklahoma in order to cancel out the vote of people like this religious black lady?

SAG minimum is around $1200 a day, maybe less, maybe more depending on the tier of the production. I doubt this was a union show, with the exception of camera maybe, so she got about 3 SAG days.

So fairness depends on how many days she shot for.

I hate to break it to you but looking at the demographics, there's like a 98% chance she's voting for the same side as you.

It's almost like political parties represent coalitions of interests or something.

I sort of read the farking article. Having just seen it. I think she and the holocaust survivor came across as possible 2 of the best human beings alive.

2020-10-27 6:23:13 PM
I understand why she is angry, but she was the best part of the movie (maybe second best because the Jewish lady almost brought me to tears with her kindness). I was hoping she was real because she is a genuinely good person who said and did all the right things and had her heart in the right place. She was smart but caring. She briefly renewed my faith in humanity.

I'm unhappy if they screwed her or tricked her, but if she's half the person she was in the movie she's an amazing human being who makes me believe things will be OK after all.

But after filming wrapped, she worried about the girl and asked other congregants at her church to help pray for her.

Not so worried you do anything more than plead with a wall and ask other people to plead with a wall too.
