4. Sugar isn't a food group.

About 90 percent of the foods featured in the YouTube videos were unhealthy items like milkshakes, French fries, soft drinks and cheeseburgers emblazoned with fast food logos

They should get the healthy cheeseburgers which don't have the fast food logos.

It could be.
"A food group is a collection of foods that share similar nutritional properties or biological classifications."

I'm wagging my finger at you disapprovingly.

For real tho, getting kids hooked on simple carbohydrates will be terrible for them down the road.

It's so weird, if you give in and let your kids eat farking Pop Tarts or chicken nuggets or whatever every time they say they don't want what you made for dinner, they'll never eat what you made. Super weird. Can't possibly explain that. I guess kids who wouldn't eat anything but junk food used to just starve to death before Kraft Macaroni and Cheese existed. That must be it.

/ I blame people who think missing a meal will, like, kill you or something.

Under normal circumstances I'd agree. But the Mrs would END me if I didn't keep the freezer stocked with chicken nuggets. Between the working from home, managing a young ADD boy through zoom calls, cooking, and other chores, something the kid can cook for themselves in 5 min is a godsend.

But otherwise, he eats what we eat or he goes hungry.

I would like to specifically exempt any parents making clear-eyed, considered choices from the implicit judgement in my earlier post. It's only the ones who are all, "my kid won't eat anything but garbage, for entirely unknown reasons, I wish they would but they just won't!" that annoy me.

/ Do what you gotta do to get by.

We tried that. My kid's so stubborn (and a light eater anyway) she (7) ended up underweight and her doc had us put her on a high calorie diet. "Mac and cheese is fine as long as she's eating SOMETHING."

The pandemic is making her anxiety spiral (we're waiting to see a specialist), so she's currently grasping for control by saying she doesn't like practically ANY food I make for dinner, and she can't afford to lose more weight skipping meals. Doesn't help that she's an anxious barfer, either.

High calorie isn't a good habit to get into, but you need those extra pounds when you're growing

Yeah, it is the commercial's fault all the way.
They see me rolling... (my fat ass 10 year old down the sidewalk).

Quit making excuses for being fat and making others fat.
FFS, that mentality is what is wrong with this country.
