I did.

I was already drinking too much anyway. As COVID hit I was going through a few y'all boys every night, then a bottle every Saturday. It was too much & my lifelong depression was beginning to become overwhelming.

I got some help & I'm currently on Zoloft.

On the other hand, I now have an absolutely raging addiction to flavored seltzers. On the whole, it's been a good decision.

Good job!  Working on severely dialing it back myself.

Similar here. The first two weeks were basically a booze-fueled pajama party, but once it because clear that this "pandemic" thing was here to stay, well... fark. Drank the last of the beer and didn't buy any more, sewed some masks, got my shiat together, and started using my 2 hours of commute time to work on myself. I'm on Effexor now and have lost ~20 pounds.

In July 2018 I stopped drinking because my mother baked a batch of brownies for me and I needed to offset the calories.

I found that I did not miss getting buzzed every evening so while I did finish off the last of my vodak once the brownies were gone I never bothered buying any more. I needed to lose weight, anyway, and cutting out alcohol helped with that.

That will be changing on November 3. My Presidential election tradition is ignoring all outside media, watching movies and getting absolutely hammered. Pandemic or no, I am not breaking that tradition. I will be buying two handles of Tito's in the next week. Once they are empty, though, I will probably be dry again until 2024 or the next time I visit New York City.

I'm drinking way more.

Prior to the pandemic I was a "weekend drinker", 2x 6 packs of Long Trail Double Bag (7.4% beer).

Since February when we all started working from home, it's been a 6 pack a day, every single day.

I've managed to lose 40lb despite drinking 1200 calories a day by maintaining strict workout discipline.  So that's been good.  I've honestly never had a better mental state despite the world crumbling around me.

You know I think it's like, fark it dude, let's go bowling (this was taken the weekend before everything shut the F down, and it still felt pretty dumb to be honest):

I'm not a drinker, never have been.  So I'm only drinking NyQuil, and generic knockoffs, to help me get to sleep during Fall allergies.

But I have promised to get smashed if Donnie dies.

Scorpitron is reduced to a thin red paste: I'm drinking way more.

Me too.

My drinking in 2020 is definitely up from 2019.

I'm going to take the next few months off and diet hard. I don't know that I can blame covid, as I'm a bit of a loner anyway, but I do know I've definitely been stressed this year all the same.

Drinking more, sleeping less, worse diet.

Throw in a couple exercise injuries that aren't healing so I'm less active, and I kinda spent the summer on the road to an earlier death.

People? No.
Some people? Yes. And more power to them.
There are others that have decided that day-drinking isn't that bad or affects work that much.

Used to share a bottle of wine with Mrs South most weekends, over meals until it was finished. About three years back we reduced that a bit, and now it's about one bottle every 4 / 5 weeks.

I love the taste, but I've never needed a buzz...

We usually drink a cheap sangria about once a month or so during the summer.  This year, because of the distribution chain disruptions, Aldi's near me never seemed to have it stocked.  Ok fine, I'll break down and try somewhere else.  The other grocers were having the same problems, so I decided to hit a bottle shop and splurge on a real sangria from Spain maybe.  I roll into the parking lot, and I am the only person in the lot with a mask.  First clue.  Approaching the door I see inside that not one person is wearing a mask, and no one is standing any distance from anyone else.  Second clue.  I get almost to the door and realize it is not an automatic opening, that I will have to grasp somewhere on it to enter and leave.  That's it, no sale.  Head back to the car and just wait til I can get my usual Winking Owl from Aldi.

That was back around Memorial Day, and since then we've had maybe one bottle in 5 months.

A coincidence! I used to split a bottle with Mrs Green giant over dinner too!

These days I just finish the farker myself while doing dishes.

I haven't had a drink since 1-1-16.  My last drinking binge just about killed me.

I felt I needed to be sober so I'd make good decisions in case of an emergency.

Not sober, but definitely drinking way less than before.

Compared to the prior year I've dialed it way back, like 50% or more.

i quit last december to concentrate on smoking more weed. i started having a few almost every night sometime around august. i really should quit again, though.

I'm the opposite actually

I was never much of an "at home" drinker, and my going out drinking with the boys days are long behind me. Probably has been a decade since I was more than lightly buzzed

Since COVID, almost every dinner is a half litre or litre of strong German beer. Still not getting drunk, but it went from a rare treat to being a habit. No idea why

Maybe I should break it. My fat ass doesn't need the calories

At first, my consumption went way up - probably for a good two months if I'm being honest. Started gaining a few pounds and neither I or my poor partner loved that, so we dialed it back (even though she doesn't drink very much).

I've since slowed down (thanks to weed) and have ironically turned my love of beer into a fun hobby with a friend, where we do very quick reviews of beer for social media. Instead of allowing me to drink more, it's caused me to slow down and enjoy what I am consuming. I've probably cut my drinking in half this past month as a result.

I was never a big drinker but I am drinking less now. Kind of surprised myself.  I had a goal before COVID to do less drinking at home and limit it to actual social occasions. Perhaps I was succeeding. Less social activity is not really a good prescription for my introverted self.

I have a history of drinking to excess during stressful times, and the pandemic was no exception at first. However I eventually realized it was making me feel even shiattier (both emotionally and physically), so I backed off.  I still have a few on the weekends with my boyfriend, but I'm not getting sloshed until I pass out every night. I might even drink less than before the pandemic started.

I weighed myself for the first time in a while a couple days ago and found I'm now solidly in the "not overweight" category, so that might be a fringe benefit. I suspect some of the lost weight is muscle loss due to sitting around all day though. =[

We are not very good, but it's pretty cheap fun every so often.
