Medical conditions? I'm Bi Polar, so they have to take me to both on the cruise.

Wear a mask and everything is fine.

Covid? Pfft. The real danger, what with all the global warming, is the ship hitting the melting and therefore weakened ice wall and falling off the edge of the world. Why aren't the Flat Earth people talking about THAT, huh? When all the damned water in the oceans drains away, then Covid won't seem all that bad now, will it?

Someone needs to make a movie about a supervillain who tries to explode a hydrogen bomb at the Antarctic Ice Wall, so all the Earth's water drains off the edge. That would make an excellent Bond film, would it not? Or maybe part of the FAF franchise (car chases in Antarctica!)?

Sadly, both franchises have done the "explosions on ice" climactic battle. Will be a while before either revisit it any time soon

I'm at the south pole right now, have been here since November of 2019, and I can tell you the NSF is doing a shiatload to keep Covid off the continent for the people coming here for the science effort.  For the Americans there's a two-week quarantine in Christchurch or on the Gould in Punta Arenas with three Covid tests throughout that time before they can even fly to the continent.  As of now we've doubled the winter population at McMurdo and no cases are here.  The south pole crew is making their way down from their quarantine in Christchurch today (hopefully, weather depending).
