Me and everyone I know (except my boss) voted for Biden in Collin County last week.  538 is giving him ~35% chance to win the state.

I'm not familiar with this pollster though.  Are they reliable?

The last update on Electoral-Vote.com had Biden up 1 point.. taken on 10/19.

If a few more people have realized that Donnie will never ever grow up and act like an adult, good.

Could be an outlier, but still... fingers crossed.

Would be so nice to have Biden just declared the winner early on election night, because Texas and Florida went blue.

Biden campaign needs to plaster Texas with ads showing racist Mark "let's send Obama back to Kenya" Meadows telling Jake Tapper the White House is not going to get a handle on the Coronavirus.

It was a stupid farking thing to say and Dems need to make hay with it.

Polling has definitely moved toward Joe as the election nears.

Tyler is about as red as red can be in TX so if that poll sample consists of a decent cross-section of the population, that's very telling.

Worth the read.  Too many people know "just enough about statistics to be dangerous."

Vote, just vote, run up the score and vote.  Make a point of voting out any local Republican who has been remotely complicit with this administration.  Even vote out the rats attempting to flee from this sinking ship.  They helped chew holes in the side of the ship, let them sink with it.

Trump might lose texas. Maybe. But if he does it won't be any kind of tipping point. If he loses texas he will already have lost the election.

But that Senate seat. Now there's a tempting pipe dream

Something needs to be done about this.  You can't have a democracy based on majority rule.

I'm already doing my part.  I just ordered twenty-six-hundred feet of railroad track and an Acme rocket sled.  The end of the track is going to be right at the end of the driveway where Joe Biden picks up his newspaper in the morning.

Wish me luck, gentlemen.  I have two weeks to assemble this genius-level plan for genius-level individuals such as myself.  I'm doing this for you.  No.  I'm doing this for Mr. Tump, our Presdent.  Godspeed, Donalt.

My concern has shifted from concerns about him somehow pulling off a squeaker like in 2016 with the EC and more about court manipulation, but I also can't tell how much of that is me sliding into conspiracy theorist territory.

I hand delivered my "absentee/mail-in ballot in Collin County on the first day of early voting. Despite our Id10T governors attempt to make this difficult I took the effort to drive pretty much all the way across the county to drop this off at the county board of elections. There was a line of cars even for the drop off box. The vote in person line was out the door and half way around the building. A local library is also a polling place but since the Id10T governor disallowed them from accepting drop off ballots I could not use them. They on the first day had a line around the block and there were no parking spaces left even an hour or so before they opened on the first day of early voting.

A friend had this on her facebook feed.

Full ads 24/7 will have less impact on final results than the court action the GOP is going with as "a plan".
GOP is betting on lawyers not voters.

If Texas goes blue, it would suggest Ohio, Iowa, and Georgia may also.

Which explains why Biden will be campaigning in Georgia this week.

poll averages had Trump +2 in Texas, but Joe only needs to close Pennsylvania (+6) to win the Presidency.

However, Senate seats in Iowa, Georgia (x2), NC, Maine, and Montana could all use top of the ticket help.  Dems already lose the seat in Alabama and gain Colorado and Arizona.  If Republican voter apathy is as bad as I'm starting to think, there is a shot at any of those (3 seem probable as it is, 4 would be great) and *maybe* even a snowballs chance in Hell of Kansas or South Carolina.

538 isn't a pollster, they aggregate and analyze other pollsters' work.  I think they're good, others think overrated.  They were the only ones giving Trump a chance in 2016, so that counts for something to me.

The good news is that rabid form of the base is relatively small compared to what you need to win a national election.

This time Trump doesn't have 35 years of anti-Hillary propaganda to compliment the complicit media, misogyny, and Trump's message of racism.  Now its just the complicit media and Trump's racism.  He may keep those "new" voters (Nazis) from 2016 but he lost a lot of the middle.  No other Republican has lost seniors before.  He's down by 6 points with them as of today.

Maybe you misread my intent
I meant to imply that the chances 538 are giving Biden in Texas don't mean it's out of play. I expect it to be closer than in any election since I've been old enough to cast a ballot, and would be ecstatic to see an upset.

Not optimistic my state is going to flip to sanity this year but hopeful nonetheless.

If we can keep the GOP spending and fighting in places like GA and TX it means less resources for places like PA and FL. And Biden has a better chance of winning in TX and GA than Trump does in FL and PA so why not try to run the table and go for a 400 EV victory to take all the steam out of any post election shenanigans.
