I know they need the help with half their receivers getting injured...but this seems a bit nuts.

Been a while but I thought I saw where Brady regretted the Pats had to cut him

I was hoping the Seahawks would get him to be the guy who draws double coverage to free up their other star receivers to catch some of Russel Wilson's deep ball cooking. Oh well...

I snagged him off waivers.  I'm thinking I need to trade him now, because his value will never be higher.

Ow! That was my feelings!: I snagged him off waivers.  I'm thinking I need to trade him now, because his value will never be higher.

Thanks to having my kicker, defense and two out of my 3 possible RBs all on bye this week (the third, of course, being farking Mostert) I had to pretty much gut my team. At this point I'll figure out what to do with it come Tuesday.

It's a stupid year, so of course I'm in first.  Won last week by .6 pts on Zane's extra point on Drake's garbage time run.

He went all Charlie Sheen in the first place so he could play with Tom Brady, plus Arians was the OC for the early part of his stint in Pittsburgh. So this makes all the sense in the world

He absolutely hasn't changed since two years ago.  There is a question to be asked if the Burfict hit messed up his brain chemistry, or if he was messed up in the head to begin with.

I still maintain that the craziness was all an act to get kicked out of Pittsburgh (and then the Raiders) so he could play with Brady. James Harrison pulled the same insubordinate act to get cut in Pittsburgh and almost won a Super Bowl in NE for his troubles. He and AB are tight, and Harrison has it out for Tomlin and the Steelers for not playing him that last year. So Harrison got in AB's ear about how the Steelers didn't respect him and they like Ben more than him and he should go somewhere else and show 'em. Of course, all Harrison had to do to get cut at the end of his career was fall asleep in a couple of meetings. For AB to be cut he basically had to jump up and down and hit himself on the head with a mallet like Daffy Duck for months

AB was a perfectly fine (if mercurial) citizen for almost a decade, including years after that hit. And, to the best of my knowledge, he's been mostly well behaved for almost a year now. I don't follow on social media, so I don't know for sure what he's been up to.

I grant most of this falls into unprovable conspiracy theory territory. But it makes as much sense as "He went crazy from a hit almost 4 years earlier"

I gotta disagree. Tooanx stories and narcissistic up front behaviors have always been there. I had a couple friends who are bipolar, Brown has all the hallmarks. Had, because it's exhausting being friends with someone like that, especially when they periodically go off their medication because they love the high of the disorder.

If he had acted anywhere near as nutty as he did to get kicked out of Pittsburgh before he tried to get out of Pittsburgh I might agree. Before that the worst thing he ever did was Facebook live the postgame speech. Big jump from that being the worst thing to them literally having no choice but to trade himHe wanted to play with Brady, and he did what he had to to make it happen. It's really that simple.

I should also mention that I said AB was acting crazy because he wanted to go to NE when he was still with the Steelers. It's on here somewhere if you feel like finding it

I'm talking about in the locker room and in his personal life, but the Steelers also always gave him free reign that other players wouldn't get, to keep him quiet and have a handle on his volatility.

I have a lot of friends who are musicians, they see a lot more, consistently (well, pre-covid) , because they play spots where Steelers hang out.

If ...

So by your own admission the Steelers covered up a lot of his crazy, which means him taking his crazy to the public was probably calculated to make it so they had no choice but to cut him

My own admission?? Wait. You said there wasn't much wrong, I said there was. I'm not invested in it the way you are, so let's leave it at that, because you've been farkied in a cool color for a long time.
Agree to disagree.

From what I've read or heard, him an Brady are good buddies and have been working out together in the off season for a few years.

lol, I get it.  He just has that stink of when i was 19 and he was announcing for WCW. I honestly am kind of shocked that he still has employment in any sort of writing field!  last things i recall from him was his writing for wrestlezone.com which was....pretty bad.

Brown was an asshole for many many years.  The Steelers did a great job keeping it hidden and under wraps.  Eventually, though, they reached a breaking point and forced him out.  Teams are willing to put up with a lot of diva behavior if you're really good (See: Odell) but eventually, it's just too much.  Especially when it's a detriment to your team.

Roethlisberger threw like 20 interceptions in 2018 and I remarked NUMEROUS times that it's because Brown was a diva who kept demanding the ball at all costs and that if they just got rid of him, the interceptions would plummet.  Sure enough, they have have selfless non-diva WRs and guess what?  He has only 1 interception.  Instead of forcing it to Brown, he just finds whoever is open.  Is anyone on the team as good as Brown? Not remotely.  But they're all pretty good and selfless and it adds up to being a much better situation.  I hope the Steelers go deep in the playoffs to show that you don't need to put up with the diva antics.  4 pretty good WRs is far better than 1 elite one.

F*cking Pittsburgh drafts 1A receivers like nobody's business.  It helps that Roethlisberger has been a big arm, but I'm curious if there's a team that's been better at that for the past couple of decades

Then how do you explain when he continues to fark up so that New England cuts him? I just think he was always unstable to some degree, and has been playing a sport that inflicts neurological damage for a long time, so it got worse.

*is watching the game*

It's extra special that the Steelers have been doing so well, because it has to kind of hurt Brown and Bell.
