The 10pm ET repeat is from October 14, 2000.
Kate Hudson/Radiohead

We were less than a month away from the George W./Al Gore election, Bill Clinton was President.

That's the first time in almost 4 years that I've capitalized the word President.

Who is Kyle Mooney related to?

BlousyBrown: Who is Kyle Mooney related to?

He must have video of Lorne Michaels tucking his shirt in.

Mooney came as a team with Beck Bennett, IIRC. He does the short films now instead of Andy Samberg.

I thought this was pretty damn funny:

I think they've had a good start to the season so far and I'm really glad they're back in the studio. Hope they manage to stay there.

But Bowen Yang is really their secret weapon right now. He steals the scene in every sketch he's in. And the guy's got pipes, too:

And I just love Cicely Strong - rewind to 1:36 and 2:42 for her parts.

Adele isn't also the musical guest?  Why?

She's said that she's always wanted to host as a stand alone event. She hasn't put ourz anything new in the last few years, either.

Remembering the time just before that election, with no idea about the shiatstorm that was about to happen . . . *shiver*

9/11? I almost mentioned it in my post but changed my mind.

Oh no, I just mean the prolonged election fiasco, not to mention its resolution

I like Kyle Mooney but he seems to have been pigeonholed at the nerd guy.  Doesn't show a lot of range.

Yang, I don't really care for.  He seems to be "the same guy" in whatever sketch he's in.

and, god, please be better than last week's show.  what a snoozefest that was.

" H.E.R " ? At least the promo spot I saw around 9:40 CDT makes sense now.

Yeah, Adele seems like a weird choice for host. No new album, no acting credits AFAIK. Maybe SNL is having trouble getting host in?

Also, four straight weeks of new shows is unusual. Maybe they're just trying to get as many as possible in before the election, but it doesn't appear that next week's is new (of course, the Tivo guide could be wrong once again).

Our favorite show was the answer to a question on the Weakest Link.  These people were much smarter than last week.

And here we go

2020-10-24 11:30:00 PM
(That's in California where they are showing prime time shows before.)

2020-10-24 11:31:24 PM
I guess I am happy they are not going to have Kamala walk in for no reason.  Probably.

2020-10-24 11:34:05 PM
Yikes. For having Baldwin and Carey this is decidedly not funny.

2020-10-24 11:34:19 PM
The Clint face!

Biden Bingo. Nice.

Someone sent me a trump bingo card. It was so close. Missed "V shaped recovery".

Aside from all the real benefits of Trump losing, a nice consolation prize is not having Baldwin's Trump on SNL every week.

The real Kenny Loggins!

Don't be so sure. TrumpTV will provide plenty of fodder.

Ok laughed at thank you Mindy, love your project.

Just finished Borat.  Came away thinking republicans would be more fun to laugh at if they weren't amoral, racist, evil assholes.

Hope SNL is as brutal as Cohen.  I'd be shocked if they were as brave.

60 seconds for climate change.

Sounds pretty accurate.

Oof.. Seriously. Everyone involved in this is trying WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too hard...  This isn't funny it's cringe..  Carey doing his best Robin Williams impersonation of not being capable of being "wacky" during a comedy role that doesn't require it...

2020-10-24 11:41:46 PM
Well that ended up being picking up a little at the end so not a complete whiff.

Haven't watched SNL credits in a couple years. Interesting to see all the masks in the credits.

I love Maya. I am surprised they didn't choose a cast member for that piece, though. With as many members as there are this season. Not ready? Kinda the original point.

It's been a complaint for a while that SNL keeps bringing in celeb and past cast ringers for ratings instead of using the cast.

Adele's cockney accent reminds me of a bad Calais to Dover ferry trip I took that was full of drunk girl students screaming "I'm in the TOILET, VIV!"

A swear jar? What kind of lame idea is that?
